Me and my husband visited RAF Waddington Airshow last year and to be honest I wasn't keen on Planes until we went here, The amazing skills the pilots all have especially the red arrows which really got my adrenaline pumping, I was watching in amazement as they did their tricks. I would recommend that you take lots of water as even the stalls ran out of it, and sun cream and hats and sunglasses, also its a good idea to get ear protection for the children as the planes are very loud. You don't have to sit in the sun all day to get a good spot of the planes flying over, as I got sunstroke we were walking around and caught amazing pictures. The downside was there weren't alot of toilets about and the traffic on the way there and back gets very busy.
We will be going back time and time again :)

Brilliant, brilliant day! We were in the Veterans enclosure as both my husband and I served in RAF & Navy respectively . We had a fantastic day and the Vulcan was just brilliant, my husband had been posted to RAF Waddington as a lad when the Vulcans were flying there and was very misty eyed watching that take off and give a brilliant display, the crowd would have lifted the roof off if there had been one ..absolutely terrific!!!!
Both the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Red Arrows got the second biggest cheers. I myself particularly enjoyed the Navy helicopter with a RM hanging out waving ....one of the young Flt Lt got a particular severe frown from me when he said that was all the RMs were good for hanging out of helos haha all in great jest ... the officers and staff ''manning'' the Veterans enclosure were great fun and were on hand to answer any questions this Navy bird had!! It made for a really great day out!
I loved the whole experience and I know we shall come again! Well worth the visit and lots of things to see before, during and after the air display! Great value for money in our opinion.
Thanks to all the Waddington staff for making it a great day!
It was a fabulas day one which we shall remember for a long time .....and looking at the dodgy videos hubs took of all the flying displays :)

There is something for everyone - the air shows are very exciting and some of them are really loud! It creates a great atmosphere! There are plenty of reasonable places to purchase food and drink but it's also great to take a picnic! Good portaloo toilet facilities (not too long to queue). You can purchase foldable chairs there or bring your own and if it's sunny consider taking an umbrella for shade while your eating.

I have no complaints about the content of the show. I am less impressed by the organisers' planning skills. Having ordered tickets in November I SHOULD NOT be in the position with just over a week to go to find out whether they have even been sent out yet.

My husband and I have just spent a FANTASTIC day at the RAF Waddington air show. I went knowing very little about this event other than the Red Arrows would be displaying (a big enough reason to go) and that it might be a tricky journey given the amount of traffic. However, the traffic was expertly directed, the parking was expertly organized and the rest of the day was awesome! We spoke to so many smart and cool, skillful and talented and above all modest and friendly pilots, engineers and mechanics. We watched terrific displays, toured the planes asking one question after the next that the guys were delighted to answer. We drank tea and ate cake in the WI hanger as we listened to the D Day Darlings singing fabulous songs from the 40s (that brought tears to our eyes) accompanied by the RAF band...superb! And of course we applauded and cheered at the Lancaster bomber and Spitfire flyover and the amazing Red Arrows display. This had better NOT be the very last Waddington air show as has been hinted at. In fact, how could that be possible given the amount ofpeople who enjoyed it so much?!

Seems to get larger every year and will not disappoint if you like the RAF. Plenty to see and do and usually have some very good things to try out and buy too.

First time at this air show and loved it. Didn't take long to enter the venue as left early as I knew this would be busy unlike others who complain about traffic. Great ground displays to be seen and also great air displays. This event is one of those where you need to bring your own seating as no fixed seating unless you have stand seating tickets. No problems leaving with traffic as just left early just before it finished. But at any of these types of shows you will expect traffic to be busy! Can't wait till July 2014.

The event is run with military precision. There are always excellent displays and a number of static sideshows. Only downside is the traffic jams to get in.
