The 'Hotchkin' course at Woodhall Spa,is,quite simply magnificent..After a gentle opening hole, the course shows its teeth on the 2nd,where a long straight drive is paramount..The course doesn't let up from here, playing through vast tracts of heather and pine, and maybe the countries most cavernous bunkers. Easy to see why this rated world class. Traditional golf club house, good food and nice welcome. Brilliant, but not easy! Bunkers you can spend a week in, first class fairways and greens. This course will test the best.

Bunkers galore, mainly deep is the main challenge. Greens mainly flat and all true, drives often over thick rough and heather to reach the fairway. Every hole needs some strategic thought as to the best way to approach it. A good challenge

Ranked in the top 20 in the world and it is easy to see why. Drive needs to be straight and long but can still finish in a bunker which will lose you a shot. Heather which lines faiways is daunting and the course is...More
