The RAF Scampton Heritage Centre is housed inside the Annexe offices of the former 617 Sqn Hangar which is an English Heritage Grade II listed building. After a period of extensive renovation work carried out by volunteers, the Heritage Centre re-opened in June 2012. There is now the opportunity to see Wg Cdr Guy Gibsons office as it would have looked like in 1943. The Heritage Centre is open to the public by appointment only. To arrange a visit, please send an email, or use the contact us page on our website. We require a minimum of 14 days notice to complete security screening. We can accommodate groups large or small, including school trips.

Took my father to the RAF Scampton Heritage Museum as he was based there 62 years ago. Lovely day out, very welcoming museum guides who had in depth knowledge of Scampton's history. You arrive for 11am and the tour takes around 3 hours with a drinks' break in between. Our visit was made even more special with the return of... More

Our family (aged 1-60) had a marvellous tour at Scampton, with great, knowledgable guides. Weather is not an issue as this is mostly indoors with tea, coffee and biscuits readily available. My husband, quite an authority on the Dambusters, loved seeing the actual location and our grandsons enjoyed all the models and artefacts. Sitting in a Red Arrows Hawk was the... More

A free museum in Scampton that follows the story of the dambusters story. Its free to visit but must be booked in advance, as it is a working RAF site there are security checks but well worth a visit. You may even see the iconic Red Arrows if you are lucky! (we were). Lots of interesting info and you are... More

Not only the home base of the Red Arrows, but also the airfield from which the Dambusters took off. Tour of the Heritage Centre was very interesting, made even more enjoyable by the enthusiasm of the local tour guides.

First visit to RAF Scampton museum and it was excellant, really interesting walking through the origianal base, which was of course featured in the Dambusters film, great little museum, Guy Gibsons well known dog has his grave outside the museum, we even had a visit from a lookalike dog!!

Having been stationed at RAF Scampton in the late 70s/early 80s I thought it would be refreshing to pay the old station a visit during a short break in Lincoln, bearing in mind the security situation. We were both dismayed to learn that a minimum of 2 weeks notice is now required to visit the museum meaning we had a... More
