A really superb Elizabethan Mansion Hall maintained in superb condition and still lived in by a private Family who have achieved a magnificent restoration project. Interesting interior with lots to see including family portaits and porcelain and period furniture. Superb Gardens ( the Iris Garden in May is a must ) and a Walled Kitchen Garden with many vegetables for... More

A beautifully kept house and well worth a visit. We had a tour guide (no extra cost) and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Arrived here just before 12 and managed to get the last 2 tour tickets . As the house was not open yet we wandered around the gardens. They were busy putting up sculptures all around the gardens ready for an exhibition opening on July 30th The lady who took us around on the tour was very knowledgeable and made everything... More

During our visit to Lincoln and family we paid a visit too this estate, cost free for visit, great shop and resturant also small outlets with high end brands, great grounds for walking and dog friendly, Manor House open too public, small charge for entry, plenty of car parking within the grounds.

A bit like the John Lewis of English country houses. Just seem to do everything well. Good food and service but not cheap. The house is still a family home so not all of it is open to the public. Well worth a visit though. Grounds and garden are a good stroll on a sunny day. So a half day... More

Queued for 10 minutes to get a table in the Cafe as it was raining on and off & the outdoor tables are not under cover. I ordered the Goats cheese, Beetroot & Cous cous dish. I was confused when it arrived as it seemed to be topped with 3 scoops of what looked like clotted cream with chopped herbs.... More

Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your visit. The whole ethos of Doddington is to use local produce and produce grown here on our own estate as much as possible. The soft goats cheese that we use in the salad that you had is Appley goats cheese produced in nearby Wragby and is... More

We turned up on a cold and wet rainy day and were surprised at how busy the place was, we had to use the overflow car park. The farm shop is brilliant with different types of food to sample and it has a large selection of good quality food items, quite a lot appeared to be locally sourced. We had... More

This is an elizabethan Manor House with a host of original features, always passed on by inheritance and stuffed full of original and later but all interesting furniture, paintings and various artifacts spread over a number of floors. Highly recommended for a visit as is taking the free guided tour - our host added considerably to the information provided in... More

What a gem! The house (check opening times) is a pleasure, so obviously loved and cared for. There is an excellent café and a restaurant both serving good quality food and the farm shop is a must. The veg boxes are excellent value.
