One of the nicest parks I've seen. Boats on the lake. The river, games and sports facilities super cafe. Beautifully preserved Abbey ruins. Always filled with families of all nationalities and religions showing multi cultural Leicester at it's tolerant best.

There is parking inside the park. There are both free and park and pay I believe. The one closest to the ruins and by the pet corner is free. It is also very popular so you need to get there early in the day. We usually park outside the park. The cafe is closer to this parking area as well. Just past the ruin wall it is by the oval track. You can't miss it. The bridge crossing the river is in front of it.
