We visited for Sunday lunch. We had had fantastic food previously over the years and were unaware it was under new management.
The service was ok and staff very pleasant although staff did not seem to know when we had already been
Food was ok but was not hot, only just about warm enough to eat so disappointing and by the time a member of staff came to ask we had eaten most our meal. No reduction or anything was offered for this by was of apology.
Overall the pub and eating experience was not something we would return for which is a shame given the high previous quality although although perhaps it is because the new management are finding their feet?
Unfortunately we won't be looking to find that out after this visit.

Had the most amazing takeaway Sunday lunch for Mother’s Day. The food was excellent and very reasonable. The staff went the extra mile to provide a takeaway service for Mother’s Day during the corona virus lockdown period. A massive thank you to all the staff.

We have just moved to the area and have heard good things about our new local! Also, we had to book in advance due to its popularity so that was a good sign! On arrival, we got seated straight away, shown the specials and ordered our drinks! I personally was expecting a wider variety on the menu. However we were not disappointed with our chosen mains. I ordered the chicken and the other half ordered the lamb cutlets. These dishes were absolutely beautiful! You got a lot for the price too! For pudding, we shared apple pie and custard which again was lovely! The cinnamon gave it that little bit extra! The only feedback I would provide is that at one point I asked the waiter if they served blood orange gin in which his response was no (after checking). I therefore ordered pink gin. It wasnt until we went for after drinks in the bar area that I realised that there was a zesty orange gin available which would have need good to be offered earlier in the night when I asked about blood orange gin.

All in all, we had a lovely evening and would definately come back!

One question for us, do you cater for children? (Childrens menu).

Thank you! See you again

Attentive staff ,friendly and accommodating made us feel very welcome. We hadnt booked but we were given a lovely table, which was well presented. The whole place is very clean and the decor is lovely. The whole ambience is relaxed and friendly, yet none intrusive.
The menu was varied and I chose from the specials board , the fish in a basket. This was served with chunky chips and salad. Oh my goodness, it was delicious!! Staff were attentive but not hovering around. Totally loved it!!
Can't wait to go back!!
Well done to everyone at The Nags Head!!

This pub was closed when we went for lunch on Thursday 21June 2018. Apparently it's been closed for some weeks though the website appears to be working.

We hadnt booked a table but were told that they would be able to seat us in about half an hour, if we chose to wait. We thought that this was fair enough as we hadnt booked. So we ordered our drinks and only had to wait half this time.! We chose from a lovely menu and the staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The food arrived after a minimal wait considering it was extremely busy. It was homecooked and piping hot, and delicious! The ambience is intimate which was quite an achievement considering how busy it was. Absolute great value for money!
The place has been under new management for aq little while now and they certainly have made huge improvements! It is so clean and welcoming. The olde wordle charm is evident throughout. Take a tip and book tho make sure you get to eat here!
We will be back very soon!

We have been past this pub many times over the years and promised ourselves that we would give it a try sometime. Today was that day and we were not disappointed.
Would recommend the Bangers and mash, followed by malteaser cheese cake.
