Disappointing
Nov 2021 • Friends
I went Saturday night staff were standing around talking while there was queue of people waiting to be served. I ended up missing first 10 mins of Ghost Busters.

My next visit was not much better service was improved but was surprised the lack of Hotdogs at a main stream time.

This was one of the best cinemas in it's day but sadly I feel unless the management can get it working better you will loose a lot more customer.

VERY POOR SERVICE
Nov 2021 • Friends
I'm not really a cinema goer.
I haven't been for about 3 years and the latest Bond film was showing.
Decided to venture out.
The Queue was fairly long, but we only wanted to buy the tickets. Unfortunately the queue for the tickets and the queue for the food, were one and the same !!!!!
What's the point of that ????
We waited for over 20 minutes in this queue, missed the beginning of the film....what a wounder.
Surely there should be a kiosk just for ticket sales,if they're not busy then they can help the food side of the operation, which is far more laborious, time consuming and labour intensive.
And to make matters worse the machines outside in the Foyer,to buy the tickets were broken, ALL 3 OF THEM.
The cinema experience itself was fine,it's just getting into the place which was a pain. Not amused.

I have an idea, lets put childrens and family movie showings on AFTER school finishes so that people with children at SCHOOL can watch the films too...

I like this cinema but the service is awful, is it a cinema or some kind of fast food outlet? Arrived ten minutes early for 11.00am bond screening. Long queue seven staff but only two selling tickets and popcorn and making coffee and ice cream. Etc all at the same time. Twenty five minute wait to buy a ticket. Ticket machines were broke. And there’s two staff waiting to ticket check when the two doing the work of a drive through restaurant finally got to you. I understand that selling extras makes profit but if you’re having this system, it’s gotta be manned or move people from one task to another, or at least make a station tickets only when the films already started. Worst customer service experience I’ve had anywhere. Selfishness of other customers going for the full three courses was equally disappointing. Response from management was buy on line and use your phone.

Not socially distancing at all - quite concerning
May 2021 • Family
I was really looking forward to getting back in the cinema...maybe I’m naive but I thought the cinema would have gone every other row or something to socially distance. The cinema was packed and the person constantly coughing behind me didn’t help! People weren’t wearing masks except moving around the building, the queue was packed and again no social distancing. I felt really uncomfortable so we sat with our masks on. Disappointed there was no temp checking, couldn’t see any signage or people reinforcing distancing despite Leicester having an issue with the new covid variant.
If you are still getting used to getting back out there and prefer to socially distance my advice would be wait for now or you may end up worrying the whole film like me.

Gives me what I want
Mar 2020
Before lockdown use to visit Vue cinema quite a lot and have enjoyed it every time. Cheap prises, comfy, clean, always get the seats we want, staff always polite. Never bother with vip seating as standard in my opinion is better. My only complaint would be serving the food where you get the tickets. I go to the cinema to watch the film not to eat overpriced cinema food and it is annoying when you get behind somebody ordering a banquet in front and holding up the people who want to watch a film.

Vue must be kidding111111
Jan 2020
Went to see 1917 a must see film on the big screen but....
Not at Vue they keep ceiling lights on so i always had 2 lights shining above me so dark scenes were not dark and the sound quality was awful.
all i got was a speaker to my left with a faint sound now and then to my right so thanks to Vue the big screen experience and majesty of the film was lost.
Seat ok but i could not sit upright as they must be angled and i kept slipping forward.
It was a nightmare to book seats i wanted to book in advance but i the time of each film only appears on a thursday so if i wanted to a week before i could not plan anything.
Then the website would not accept my booking and i almost gave up. it took me 5 attempts to do it and as is the norm now i could not get hold of a human to help just a recorded message.
Is it any wonder they have reduced the prices.
The mens toilets have gone water flush free and wow do we know it . as soon as the door is opened there is an overpowering smell of urine and there was urine on the floor at every single urinal, not just the odd splash but puddles.
The floor was very sticky and i squelched my way to the screen.
And the industry wonders why people download films.

Ridiculous Queues
Jan 2020 • Family
Very long queues, arrived 10 minutes before film was due to start and was faced with two queues of 40+ people on each.
Left after 15 minutes, and will be trying Odeon or Cineworld next time for sure.
I suggest you open more tills at peak times.

Utilitarian shadow of it's former self
Nov 2019
I'm old enough to remember this cinema when it opened, and when it was a Warner Village. Back then, it felt like you were visiting a cinema. The whole experience was 'Hollywood like'. The 2019 Vue experience is a brightly lit, bland, poorly maintained, dirty, utilitarian experience.

Could do with a lick of paint and some TLC, Vue.

I actually quite like this cinema because of it's ease of location (free parking!) and the fact that when you visit it, it's never packed out completely. That's latter point is probably more of a symptom rather than an intentional selling point.

As noted on other reviews, the toilets (Gents) are disgusting and stink to high heavens. They've never been great, to be fair, but they've not been maintained over the years. Someone had ripped a urinal off the wall. Pretty awful.

This review gets 2/5, purely because, for seeing a film, this is an *adequate* experience. You get nothing extra for your money, however. You see your film, and that's it. You don't leave thinking "that's a really nice place to see films".

It's a real shame - seeing the decline over the years is quite depressing, and I can't see Vue putting the investment in to make it a *nice* place to visit.
