Great venue to see live Music
Oct 2021 • Couples
Visited the Joe Longthorne theatre on Sat 2nd October to see a Celine Dion Tribute act.

Great venue and friendly staff on hand to help, very efficient getting people in and showing them their seats.

Thanks for a lovely evening

Bar staff friendly.

Great venue and even better entertainment
Aug 2021 • Couples
Great to see live entertainment back at the pier! Joe Longthorne would be proud to see the theatre that bears his name bouncing back after all that has happened!

Yes, it is true that the toilets are not the best, but they are way better than funny girls.... The rest of the venue is looking great. There is always something to do with an old venue, it looks like they are getting there.

Now for the good stuff, the shows, I have seen the Wizard of oz, Queen will rock you and Wham! The George Michael legacy this year, all were great shows. First class entertainment, all of the shows were well put together and performed.

Fabulous afternoon panto -Wizard of Oz August 2021
Aug 2021
Covid safe at its best. Rows left empty in between seated rows and a seat left free in between individual groups.
No ice cream in the interval, not sure why?
Saw the Wizard of Oz panto, done brilliantly by Tom Rolfe Productions and it was fab. Seen many of their productions as he hails from our own home area so was really pleased to discover him in Blackpool when visiting for a mini break ( what can I say, we were desperate for a break!). Can honestly say it was the best 2 hours of our 3 day break and worth every penny of the £10 a ticket paid bearing in mind the extortionate prices charged by other venues in Blackpool e.g Pleasure Beach. For anyone wanting to spend some quality time with children at a very reasonable price go and see the panto, can wholeheartedly recommend.

So much potential going to waste. But great queen show
Jul 2021 • Family
Can not fault the queen show at all, however the theatre staff were not organised. Slow service at the bar only 2 people on for a theatre which was pretty full.

This theatre could be amazing with a good caretaker, ensuring toilets are secure and didnt wobble etc. Very dated bathrooms made it appear dirty.

So much potential hope its not wasted. Great to see the venue open and used though. The more money that goes through the doors can help the theatre be updated 🤞

Nice to see ticket office open too, as i wouldn't have booked online

Hope to come back again and see something else, hopefully see a little bit of Restoration and happy staff. Just hope the quality of shows are as good!

Not in the Theatre as advertised, overpriced. Cant organise drinks service.
Jul 2021 • Couples
Purchased 2 x 'Theatre' tickets for a Wham tribute act. The Entrance doors were locked upon arriving then found that the show was in fact not in the theatre but in the small lounge bar. Reason given was covid ( however other venues that week that we attended for shows were full). No food or drink served in the 'bar's, was told you had to go across to the other bar on the other side of the pier. Once there you had to register, sit at a table, order online, wait for table service to bring your drinks ( a 25 minute wait so missed the first 10 minutes of the show) , £8 for a Captain Morgan's and coke!! You also had to use this bar for toilets.
The actual show was 1st half George Michael ( not for me, sorry more wifes choice) 2nd half was wham, better. The singer was good but he probably could be better as a part of an ensemble of acts rather than just him.
Felt as though it was in the lounge it was overpriced for what it was.

Evocative looking theatre .

Although I never ventured into the theatre as I believe it's closed still do to the coronavirus pandemic precautions but walking down North Pier we passed this beautiful looking theatre and I must say it still looks superb, adds to the joy of walking down the North Pier ,its such a very photogenic theatre building, makes for some great photographic opportunities and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're walking along North Pier.

Awful
Oct 2019 • Friends
Went to see Paul Smith & support (seen them before and both great).people constantly moving about, chatting throughout, 2 fights broke out, Paul had to stop the show while it was dealt with, poor support act left after 10 mins ( don't blame him) security did what they could but after the 2nd fight ( 2 rows in front of us) we didn't feel safe anymore and couldn't enjoy the show. Alcohol was served throughout the performance so people kept going to the bar. Witnessed drug taking. Toilets were shocking. Will never go there again. A potentially great night ruined.

Beautiful Theatre
Aug 2019
We took our children to see the Sooty Show whilst we were on holiday in Blackpool. They enjoyed the show so much. It was excellent value for money at £5 each seat.
I was taken back by what a beautiful Theatre the north pier has.
It has a fantastic large foyer and lots of photo's of the theatre's history. Inside the theatre was beautiful, The seats were comfortable, The stage was a good size and you could see it is been looked after.
Blackpool look after this beautiful theatre as so many pier theatre's are closing. Keep putting shows on and keep this theatre open for years to come.

Worst Theatre Ever
Aug 2019
Went to see Hazel O'Connor on 1st August. Fantastic show by her. However over zealous door staff running over to anyone taking a photo and telling them off. 30 mins wait at the bar due to under staffing, vile toilets over at the family bar across the theatre.
NOTHING ABOUT THIS THEATRE WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE (Except the act)

we went to see meatloaf tribute show it was fantastic. this theater is a jewel in blackpool's crown and only one of a few remaining theaters on a pier in England. the staff are fantastic and very plesent and helpful, also the bar sells a good selection of hot and cold drinks and food at reasonable prices. the lovely walk down the pier prior to the show is a treat as well. i would recommend that you go see any of the shows on at this venue over this coming year as you will be amazed at what a wonderful theater this is.. just in closing come along and support it as the owners of the pier put a lot of hard work and money into keeping this pier going. lets not lose it..
