Really good recommendation from a friend
A group of us met for Lunch on the recommendation of a mutual friend. Everything was spot on, the Food, the Staff and the Service could not be faulted. Well done Staining Lodge - a lovely place in a lovely setting - even though we don’t play golf - we enjoyed the views and admired the well manicured Golf Course. We will be back!

You shouldn't go wrong with soup!
Popped in for a quick lunch today and was very disappointed. I chose the soup which was a tomato base with vegetables, it was stuffed full of veg (all of which were mushy) and topped with a mountain of "croutons". They were bits of badly diced lightly toasted bread that just sank into a mush in the soup, they were certainly not the light, crispy, croutons I would make or expect. The "croutons" soaked up all the liquid so it just wasn't soup! The bread roll was OK. It used to be so nice but today it wasn't.

    Great food!
I recently had my baby shower at Staining Lodge and it was lovely. Everyone commented on how nice the afternoon tea was. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail with pink decorations on the chocolate cake and pink top of the lemon meringue (they had asked if I was having a boy or girl when I booked). This was unexpected and a very cute touch. The service was lovely and nothing was too much trouble, we had plenty of room, didn't feel rushed, allowed to play games and I could mingle with everyone sat down. One thing to note would be it was a sunny day and we were surrounded by windows so it was mega hot and sunny, some people worse sunglasses inside and luckily we were able to open the door and let some fresh air in but didn't expect that in early March. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or book myself again. Thank you!

Afternoon tea. First day of new menu. Friendly welcome. Beautiful surroundings. The food was lovely. Dietary requirements met. The selection of cakes was excellent both in appearance and taste.

50th Birthday Afternoon Tea in The Atrium
I had my 50th Birthday Afternoon Tea Celebration yesterday with 18 guests and wanted to express what a brilliant time both myself and my guests had. I dealt with Jordan and Ciaran during the booking process and on the day and they couldn’t have been more helpful with dietary and number changes etc l paid an extra fee for exclusivity and it was like a private function. It’s such a beautiful place with great views. I 100% recommend this place. The day ran like clockwork. The food was beautiful in taste and presentation (compliments to the chef). Good drinks and the cocktails were really good. Little boxes were provided for any leftovers. The room was decorated in an Easter theme which added to the atmosphere. Ciaren even asked us which music we wanted playing. Last but not least we had the full attention of the staff and they made it clear that we wouldn’t be rushed out so it was very relaxed and I had time to mingle with all my guests. Thanks again to Jordan and Ciaren.

    Love this place!
Absolutely love this place!! We do tend to visit as often as we can as we got married at the glass house. We love going back and reminiscing. The staff are always so attentive. Such a lovely atmosphere. The food never fails!! My husband highly recommends the wagu burger if you enjoy a burger.

We visited for Easter Sunday lunch & can’t fault this place. The food was lovely & really great value. The staff were great too. The venue itself is stunning and the views from the restaurant are gorgeous. We’d definitely visit again.

I had very bad experience, I held our engagement here there was no one around to assist on the day. We cleaned the whole place before leaving but they refused to pay back our deposit even though the manager checked everything and was happy. This place management is a rip off where they hold the deposit and refuse to pay back. Staff were extremely rude on the day even to answer simple question. It's shame because the views of hotel are nice but the interaction with the staff big disappointment and ruined our day.

We are disappointed to read your review and one star rating as we pride ourselves on our customer service and we regularly receive excellent feedback for the Glasshouse. An event manager was provided to assist in the smooth running of the event but, as per the booking agreement, we do not provide staff to clear and serve when the booking is for venue hire only. This is made clear in the booking process and in the catering agreement. Whilst you haven’t listed the date of your event there is only one (out of the 100+ events we have hosted this year so far) where we have retained the security deposit. The reason for this, as communicated directly, was because of various breaches to the catering agreement and a late stay charge. As a goodwill gesture we did refund £100 of the deposit, despite additional costs incurred exceeding the deposit retained.

Visited with Friends for lunch. Ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. This arrived , a teaspoon of dressing with 4 sliver of chicken , a few scraps of bacon. Appalling for £11 , a chef who sends this out needs some training . Took a mouthful of the chicken which was definitely off. Not something you come across very often but it happens . What preceded only added to my disappointment of the whole place . The Manager dealt with this appallingly. She told me she had eaten the chicken for lunch and it was fine ? So , accusing her customer of fabricated this up? Trust me I know off chicken, I have better things to do than send back a meal that is satisfactory. I then sat whilst it was replaced for a sandwich. So no apology and then when the bill came it hadn’t even been adjusted to the sandwich and the salad was still on it. I owned a 100 seater cafe in Lytham for 4 years . If I had treated my customers in this manner I’d have been out of business. You have a lot to learn Staining Golf Club.

I was completely reasonable about the issue with the chicken, I know sometimes these things happen in catering. What really matters , is how you put it right. Non of my friends will be returning either. In a small place like the Fylde Coast it’s important to look after people. Reputation is important! Remember that Staining Golf Course.

I arrived at staining lodge in hopes of having a nice meal with my beautiful wife sally. We sat down and I decided to order for us. The service was poor to start, but eventually a nice lad approached me after I overheard a bit of commotion in the back with what seemed to be an older woman hurling abuse to the staff. First of all, I ordered myself a refreshing peroni which tasted rather eggy but I let it slide and carried on with my order. For myself, I ordered a wagyu burger and for my wife I ordered the sea food platter. As I waited for my food, I was greeted by a scruffy dog which somehow seemed happier than the employees working there.

When the food arrived I looked down to lifeless burger and a stale bun. This was not even the worst of it, my wife’s meal stunk, clearly the fish hadn’t been done properly as showed by the discolouration and horrid smell.

I decided not to complain as I didn’t want to cause the workers anymore distress as they had already been barked at by a miserable woman who seemed to be in charge.

Overall, the food was extremely underwhelming for the price and didn’t feel comfortable with the constant nagging from the previously mentioned woman.

The only positive from my experience at the lodge was the nice lad who served me.

Went for afternoon tea with a friend and v disappointed. For £50 (£25pp), I’d expect more than 1 stale sandwich and a boiled egg between us. Sure, the sweet treats were great but still a massive rip off! Will not be returning and I’d encourage others to avoid too.

I have to say my experience of Staining Lodge is a poor one.
In the first instance the service was very poor, A waiter took our drinks order and disappeared never to be seen again, a couple that came in after us not only got their drinks but were eating their food before our food order was taken, my wife opted for a sandwich whilst I had the roast beef dinner. The drinks turned up about 20 minutes later, the food took about 30 mins. My wife was happy with her meal but I have to say I was very disappointed with mine. The plate was not even a full size dinner plate, it contained 2 slices of stringy beef, 3 small roast potatoes which were soft on the inside but I needed a hammer and chisel to cut into them, there was small drop of butternut squash, a small portion of creamed leeks a quarter of honey roasted carrot, a small spoonful of creamed potatoes, and a yorkshire pudding. The meal was barely warm and appeared to be no more than a childs portion. When I paid my bill I made my complaint and the waitress and a chef stood at the reception at the time both made their apologise. I told them the Lodge came recommended but I certainly wouldn't and I certainly won't be back. Please think twice before you visit.

We’ve just recently visited the Glass House for the afternoon tea. It’s been wonderful and we couldn’t fault it at all. The decor was fantastic, food delicious and staff very polite and professional. Nothing was too much to ask. Social distancing and health and safety rules adhered to, so it made us feel very safe, especially during these strange times in the middle of the pandemic. A really great time had by all of us. I’d recommend it to anyone!

I’m not usually one to write a review but I couldn’t not after a visit here this afternoon. We ordered 4 sandwiches and a salad and they took over an hour to come. We asked after the hour where our food was and was told that it was on its way out, but we still waited a further 10 minutes. When the food finally arrived at the table, there was no apology and no check back to see how our food was. A man who looked to be the general manager was over all rude from start to finish, no warm welcome (a rude one in fact, as we were told “I’m dealing with another customer” as we approached a table which looked to be ours due to the only table with a high chair which is what we requested on booking). Would not recommend & will not be going back!

On Friday we visited Staining Lodge for our wonderful afternoon tea. Due to Covid we had not been able to visit earlier in the year so we were both really looking forward to visiting.
As the weather was kind we were able to sit outside and it was absolutely delightful. The food was brought out to us and explained to us before we started to eat. We started off eating the food from the savouries and sandwiches first. The pastries just absolutely melted in your mouth, absolutely scrumptious. Then moving on to the sweets we were in heaven making our way through all the cakes and scone available. Washed down with lovely cups of tea. Mind you we delayed on the tea for a while as we chose to enjoy a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc first which was a perfect choice. Thank you to the staff who were very keen and attentive all doing everything they could to ensure we had the perfect afternoon tea.
