The circus at the Tower has been running since I was a kid and it is great to see they are still continuing the tradition, especially as circuses are becoming rarer and rarer. The acts were all brilliant ranging from clowns, jugglers, high wire to illusionists and many more, they certainly filled the 2 hours. The finale with the water pit is unique and stunning and is what makes this circus special The decor of the auditorium is more like a theatre than a big top, but this definitely adds to the nostalgia of the place I got tickets as part of a Merlin combination ticket package so it made the price very reasonable, brought back happy childhood memories and I would recommend visiting

My 3 and 6 year old granddaughters hadn’t ever been to a circus or seen the Illuminations so we decided to combine the two. We didn’t queue for long, we had our temperature taken and shown to our seats which were set out with good social distancing. The one way system was also explained to us. Whilst appreciating the age of the venue I thought the toilet queues could’ve been managed better. I took my granddaughter to the female toilets but we opened the door to find it packed. We then backed out and I wouldn’t go in again until they emptied, much to the impatience of people behind us. I was also surprised that the hand dryer was still in operation given that many places have replaced them with paper towels particularly in similar confined spaces. Another shock was that we expected to have our bags searched on the way in or to go through a security scanner so we had taken minimal baggage and didn’t even take drinks in only to find several families had taken picnics in! Given the high profile of Blackpool Tower and the ongoing enquiry into the Manchester Arena terrorist attack the lack of security is a concern. As for the show, we all loved it especially the juggler and tightrope walker. I’d been brought up going to see Charlie Cairoli and his clowns so maybe I was expecting a bit too much from Mooky who just seemed to fill in bits whilst equipment was being assembled. Some of the show just seemed a bit disjointed. Great to see the water show at the end is still happening. Would we go again? Yes but not unless the toilet queuing was better managed and security is taken as seriously as Covid precautions. Brought back some lovely memories though.

This attraction continues to entertain the whole family, from clowns and fun for the children, athletic men performing feet’s of strength for the mums, showgirls for the dads. The talent and expertise of the performers is breathtaking from high flying trapeze acts to tight rope walking etc. There is something for the whole family, the clowns and floor acts intersect with the audience. At the time of our visit COVID was still prevalent so booking in advance is required, and social distancing throughout, including the arena was well controlled. A must see if you are visiting Blackpool.
