    Blackpool model village
Fantastic little place worth a visit cost 10.50 Which allows you to come and go all day on one price, very easy quiz to guide around the little village, the staff are very friendly, clean toilets free sanitary products in the females, very clean, handmade models. Cheap car park next to the model village cost £2.50 for the day. 10 out of 10

    Disappointing visit
Sadly left disappointed. While the grounds and models are interesting, the models themselves really need some tlc. They make a big deal about the Ice Cream shop, which was shut, and charging for parking on top of the entrance fee is a definite no. The on site cat was lovely though.

    A great little place!
Visited here on 15 September 2023. We were given a quiz to do on the way around which ensures you see everything, it's was fun and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, there are lovely little water features to walk over via little bridges. We finished off with an Ice cream sat in the grounds, the man who served us in the gift shop was friendly and helpful, loved every minute! I would definitely recommend and we will visit again 5/5

    Dissapointed. Not worth admission fee.
Went here 6 years ago and nothing has changed really. Poorly maintained, models are falling apart, gardens desperately need pruning. So much potential here, but the weather has been left to do its worst. Too expensive ar £10.50 per adult, plus £3 parking fee. Toilets dirty overflowing toilet bins. A shame.

    Fun
We came to the model village with our daughter aged 5. She was given a quiz to complete on the way round. She enjoyed looking for the answers and the moles. The directions given were easy to follow and ensured you didn't miss anything. There was a variety of models and scenes in the village although some could have done with being painted or refurbished as some were looking a bit tired. They were all however well detailed. Grassed areas and gardens well kept. Parking was £4 per day but we just parked for free on a side street. We enjoyed our time at the model village but thought the ticket prices were a little high.

Unfortunately everything is dated and in need of repair/touch up. The quiz/map was useful for guiding you around.
But the price!! Having checked online it quoted £7.50 but on arrival the price was £8.95 for an adult, and the website states that "prices are a guide only and may change on a daily basis". Charging what you want whenever you fancy is outrageous. Having walked nearly an hour to get there I decided to go in, but I don't recommend a visit.

Whilst this place is set in beautiful grounds, the models are so spaced out, they lack cohesion. Most of the models are outdated and lack detail. It doesn't start off well, having to pay for parking and no concession for blue badge holders, nor any close parking. The entrance price is far too much for the quality of what is on offer. If you fancy propelling your own wheelchair, you will need muscles like Popeye, after four tins of spinach. Compared to the model village in Sowerby (Bridlington,) which has free parking, much cheaper admission, a proper cafe and gift shop, is more compact and has superbly detailed models, this place is a very poor second.

We took our two little boys into the village at a cost of £30 plus parking. This model village was created in 1972 and seems to not have been updated since then . The model people were so ancient and seemed to have been repainted very badly , the 3 little trains that ran along little tracks should have been exciting for the children but 2 out of the three were not working , the water attractions were all dried up or if not were full of green slime, weeds were growing out of some of the buildings and the port was all dried up and in a dilapidated state. Once you’re in you’ve paid so it’s tough luck- I guess the need to improve or modernise just isn’t there as families have already paid before they see how outdated, run down and neglected this model village really is - you would think that there would be relevance to the town such as Blackpool tower model or beach scenes . There was a football pitch but the daisies and dandelions were taller than the footballers. The prison looked like a cardboard box that had been repainted again and again and the fairy glen was full of weeds - the potential with a bit of TLC is there but clearly no one is interested in making this model village interesting or child friendly or even worth the price you pay. Was quite disgusted really and will never ever return. We did this in about 20 minutes flat even following the treasure hunt tips which was actually the only decent idea of the whole experience.

Going with a 6yo who loves models we have to say it is a total disappointment. Large cheap plastic toys outside non detailed wooden boxes with doors. Dirty and rusty “models” took around half hour to follow the route which takes you round the same area twice at one point. £21 for 2 adults and a child! It would be a disappointment if it was free!

I’m really struggling to understand how there can be any positive reviews for this ‘attraction’. To fork out £7.50 per adult to look at some small decaying miniature models that are losing their colour is something to be avoided. I can perhaps understand it might have been popular in the early 70s when people had nothing else to do but unfortunately it’s definitely still stuck in that era. We’d already decided 10 minutes into this drag of a visit that we would exit stage left as soon as the opportunity presented itself, which thankfully it did halfway round the route. Save your money or donate it to a worthwhile charity or good cause.

This is the sort of place that likely was good when first setup but it shows all the signs of wear and tear around its display that evidences its neglect.

It costs a lot to enter and its quite a small layout so youll walk it completely in no time. Not bad if what you see if engaging but the displays themselves look dated, many figures look badly worn out and there is a discrepancy with some Buildings having insides completed with furniture etc and others just being full of rubbish or broken bits and pieces.

There is also the inexplicable inclusion of horrible Gnomes around many model setups which completely ruin the image.

Parking also at a cost so if you do go try to park off site on the street but its very busy.

They really need to smarten the place up to justify the entry cost because as is its a waste of time and money which is a pity as my family and I had really wanted to see it before arriving.

I’m sorry to write, but this place was a complete disappointment.. I know it’s a tough time for attractions, but this place really needs a level of investment to turn the place around. Over 40 quid for a family of four along with two friends to see a handful of models that look tired and in desperate need of TLC doesn’t provide the best value for money. The place could be so much more, that’s the disheartening part. Parking is an additional cost, and the toilets were ‘out of order’ when we visited - not good when you have small children. My advice would be to save your money and avoid.

Hard to find anything good about this socalled visitor attraction. Dirt stagnant water in pools ,half sunk ship in the harbour, three trains non of which are running at the time of our visit. And the state of most of the model buildings, hard to understand how they have got into such a state of disrepair. To sum up, as another reviewer said, save your money and go somewhere else, people who have given it 4/5 stars must have been into a different village to me ?

Misleading website, looks so good but it isn’t. £7.50 for an adult , far too expensive, figures old and need updating, they looked rather disturbing some of them. They need replacing, also the houses. Needs complete refurbishment. Don’t waste your model or time.

Very overpriced! £9.50 each for 3 adults, half an hour if you last it out, you will feel ripped off as it's not worth the money, thought there would be a model scene of Blackpool but there wasnt just tired looking models. Don't waste your money. Such a shame as on holiday and tried all the attractions but this was a let down
