Spent the afternoon with Mum (84 and in a wheelchair) just enjoying the sights and sounds of this amazing park. Sat by the lake and watched people boating and feeding the ducks. Sat by the fountain and waited to see if the kids fascinated by the water would fall in. Sat in the gardens and just enjoyed the array of... More

My wife and I decided to pay a visit to the park as it was a fine day with sunshine, sadly we were disappointed to find the garden of remembrance in desperate need of remembrance of its own, the flower beds were overrun and sparsely flowered, lets hope its not due to staff cutbacks for normally the park is a... Stanley park used to be one of our favourite "cheap day out" places to take the grand children, was always well kept and easy on the eye with its kids play areas, trampolines, boat rides etc. More recently however it seems to have gone very much downhill. The attractions are overpriced ( £8 for 15 mins on the boats and... More

It doesn't matter what time of the year you visit, this park is stunning. The gardens are beautiful, there is a lovely lake and also a water fountain outside the café. There is a substantial playground which would cater for small children and older children. Steer clear of the café though, it is expensive and although we bought a picnic... More

After visiting the miniature model village we went next door to Stanley park. I hadn't been since I was little so couldn't remember much. Well my boys love scooting and they could scoot till their hearts content here. A play on the skate park, scoot round the gardens and lake and finished off with a boat ride on the lake.... More

I love the fact that this park offers many many options to enjoy your time and have fun. There is a lake with ducks and swans. You can take a boat and row in the lake. There is a playground area for the kids. There are football fields. And the walking area is lovely. I especially like the gardens. The... More
