We popped in here with our suitcases on the way to our hotel after being stopped by a man outside being friendly. But as we entered it was like walking into some kind of western film! All eyes fixated on us! There were no seats left so we stood against a ledge and had a drink. The three women who... More

Im sorry you did not have a positive visit. The chap you spoke with to start is a local, but I can confirm that the vast majority of people you saw in the pub that day were visitors not locals. We do have a local trade, but the Mitre is very well known as a tourist bar as well. Being... More

Often passed this place but never fancied it. I went in purely because of the good reviews. Wish I'd trusted the bad ones. The drinks are top end Blackpool prices - more expensive than Ma Kelly's, Wetherspoons, Walkabout, Soul Suite and most other venues. The bar staff is Scottish and confrontational. The music is deafening. The atmosphere is undpectacular and... More

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. However, the majority of your review is based on one visit, out of season and in some of the worst weather of the year. This was when Cumbria was first being flooded, so no surprise that it wasn't busy - nowhere was in Blackpool. A tourist trap - nothing further from the... More

Called in here at 11am on a bright and breezy Wednesday morning in September. It's like taking a step back in time to the good old days when pubs were pubs and proud of it. Steeped in history with a myriad of old pictures on the walls, the atmosphere just speaks for itself. It's sad that there aren't more pubs... More

Small but very popular pub just off promenade. Real ales on draught. This place is definitely not one of the "plastic pubs" which have developed over last 20/30 years but is a traditional drinking place. We always drop in when in the area, well worth the visit.
