Overhyped, overpriced, underwhelming in any order you want to choose, really.
Imagine sitting in a 60's holiday camp canteen with an old, rough concrete floor & industrial steelwork in the roof: it's not the stuff of dreams, yet it cost eye-watering amounts of money to convert. Someone involved in the development has definitely trousered a fat wedge...
We sampled food from different vendors. Some OK, some less so. Pizzas & garlic bread were good, loaded fries less so.
For us, it was a lazy lunch experience but probably wouldn't dine in the evening: a bit rough around it's edges...

Tuk Tuk Abingdon Street Market.
I visited the market tonight with my work colleagues , a visit we were looking forward to, a get together after work which we never do. It's a Thursday night hardly a busy night like a weekend. There were nine of us and the waiting time for food was 20 minutes. Then first food came out 50 minutes later luke warm and incorrect the last food (of the nine) came out 1hr 40 minutes later and the food was like warm or cold. The service was very poor from TukTuk. We did get a partial refund but that wasn't really good enough. I couldn't recommend this food outlet to anyone.

Great space which has survived the vast redevelopment of the centre of Blackpool. The stalls are more or less the same as they have been for ages with one or two changes: the sad loss of the biscuit stall at the back still hurts each visit.
However, there is a fantastic costume stand with some notable masks.
The meat pies at the stall immediate front are as special as ever. Will continue to visit whenever in town. Just lovely.

My dad has been coming to this market for years and getting his clothes from one of the middle stalls which caters for larger sizes and shorter leg lengths. Normally the staff are absolutely lovely, really happy and very helpful. HOWEVER today we went in to get dad some shorts for an upcoming holiday, he found his size, tried them on and all was great until we went to pay. We unfortunately was met with an elderly sour faced woman who was doing some paperwork and another staff member. As we were being served the sour faced women doing paperwork stated loudly " I hate it when people breath on me" then moved away to the other side of the stall...my dad suffers from COPD and uses a portable oxygen machine so does take louder breaths. If you have used this market then you will know the stalls are encaged and there is a good sized gap between the customer and the staff. At the time I didn't say anything as I could clearly see my dad was embarrassed and upset. I think this is absolutely disgusting behaviour from someone that is employed to work with the public! Very rude, inconsiderate and has unfortunately left us with a low option of the once loved store my dad uses quite regular. We will NOT be coming to this stall again.

The cafe situated on the left as u walk in from the front ! We ordered food we where served by a rude bad mannered older lady ! My Friend ordered us food n drinks and put £10 down on counter for it to be taken and then was asked for the payment again ! When we addressed this with another lady who works there Tracey I do believe she was called could only apologise for her managers /owner behaviour and got her to check takings ! Which of course apparently where right !!! So we left it and sat waiting for the food we had double paid for only to have an item missing so waited patiently for it then had to ask as was clearly forgot and she piped up again saying we didn’t order it and hadn’t paid for that item absolute joke ! Will not return and we do always like to help small independent busses but this one needs new management ASAP .

Was passing on holiday and I remembered that there was a stall that sold jigsaws. I also remembered from last year, that it was ran by a friendly chap who knew his stuff. He also showed me his folder of jigsaw stock that he could get.
Anyway back to the present, I went to his stall and he was nowhere to be seen, which was disappointing as I spotted a 1000 piece completed jigsaw and I was interested in buying it, but I didn't know where the box was.
There was also no price displayed for this, so I asked the woman in charge of the stall and she raised her voice to me!
"The price is on it" she shouted.
I said to her that it was not a box, but a completed jigsaw that I seen.
She interrupted me when i tried to explain, as it appeared that she wasn't interested and walked away to another stall.
What a horrible, unfriendly, hostile, disgusting woman.
If she was minding the stall, then she lost a sale due to her rude ignorance.
The next time I visit Blackpool, this market will be getting a well deserved body swerve.

I've lived in blackpool for 30 years this market used to be packed out I notice they now have 9 empty units one or two favourites inc the pet stall have gone!
Be careful and check thoroughly if you buy anything from a certain long established stall at the back that sells clocks and electrical items as they won't refund or replace if faulty.

Visited with my husband and 7 year old boy on a recent trip to Blackpool. We have been coming to Blackpool for years but I had never heard of it until I checked out attractions on Tripadvisor.
The building exterior is lovely and traditional and inside there are a varied selection of stalls from butchers to mobility scooter sellers and toy shops to greengrocers.
It is a nice place to visit especially on a rainy day and not too busy either.

I agree, when it’s busy it’s hard to move around, especially if someone with a buggy is coming in the opposite direction. The aisles are not very wide. I do love the market though. Have you tried Fleetwood market? It is bigger and similar, there’s a nice clean cafe, toilets,( although the last time I went you had to pay for the toilet), you need a key for the disabled one. In the nicer weather the outside market is open too, that’s got quite a lot of nice clothes stalls. My fella is a larger built man, there’s a really great stall just by the entrance opposite the car park, that caters for larger men, the clothes are lovely.
There’s a lady there selling really nice Christmas cards etc at really cheap prices. Might be worth the bus trip if you can.
