Brockhole on Windermere offers activities to suit everyone, from toddlers to adventure seekers to those in search of an ultra-relaxing experience whilst enjoying their time in the Lake District. It's all here in one place, set against stunning mountain views on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. From family activities to glorious garden tours and seasonal events, there really is something for all ages. Why not explore 30 acres of beautiful historical gardens and grounds? Or picnic by the lakeshore and enjoy secret beaches with the family? If the children are feeling more adventurous they can swing or bounce through ancient woodland on Treetop Trek and Treetop Nets. Down by the lakeshore, you can hire kayaks and rowing boats, enjoy or catch the cruise boat across the lake, depending on the season. There's also archery, bike hire and mini golf on offer during the season. Don't forget to finish your day by taking in the stunning lake views offering stunning views towards the distant Langdale Pikes at the terrace café, while enjoying local ales and dishes. There's also a well-stocked gift shop and ever changing exhibition space to enjoy indoors.

We have been here with various nieces and nephews several times and it's always been a great day. Plenty to do and nice walks for the adults whilst the little ones burn off steam. Rope slide and tree top walk very popular in our family

Went here to do the tree top trek, we have previously been to Go Ape but as the boys were under 10 they had quickly exhausted the mini ape part. The grounds and cafe were nice, although it would have been good to know you get a 10% discount at the cafe with tree top trek band. The trek I... More

My children aged 11 &13 did the high ropes here. This is. Run by a separate company. They climbed all 3 levels in just over an hour. They loved this and the staff were very good and provided a comprehensive safety sessions beforehand. There is a fantastic platform although it can become slippery in the rain. You can walk to... I live quite near so visit often as it's got something for everyone, from walks around the beautiful grounds with amazing views, to the tree top nets and the play park. It's accessible via car, boat or bus which is also handy. The only down fall is it is pricy and soon adds up by the time you've paid for... More

Very expensive for the premium experience. Pay to park, pay to play in the bigger play park, pay over the odds for food and drink, pay for mini-golf, pay for almost everything. A good place if you've got a few hundred quid to burn. On the positive, the grounds are free (except parking) as is the smaller play park, so... More

I attended the FLIGHT show here and whilst the show was incredible and definitely recommend, I could;t help thinking that without the blockhole centre, it simply wouldn't look as good. The gardens in particular are to die for especially with views through the trees of the lake and the fells in the background.

I have limited mobility and I visited here with my family - the visitor centre has 2 mobility scooters, and I hired one (free of charge!) to get around.
