The views over Windermere were breathtaking! The walk up the hill was manageable and only took around 20 minutes. Was well worth it for the view!

dont take small children up there on windy day, they will get blown away! You can take the mountaineers' challenge, but there is also an easier path to the left side as you ascewnd.

It's only a 20-25 minute walk, and about a 400-500ft ascent, up a good path to get the most fabulous view of the Lake Windermere and the area to the north and west of it. Apparently, it's the view that first gave Wainwright a love...More

This was a great walk that me and my boyfriend did. We did this in our trainers rather than walking boots and it was perfectly fine! It wasn't a particularly difficult walk and the view from the top was great. It did get quite slippy...More

Walk in the steps of Wainwright you will not regret it. It should be 20 mins to the top but longer if your not a very fit pensioner. There are plenty of benches for you to rest along the way. The view from the top...More

A must see if you are in the area. This is a 20-minute walk just opposite the train station, you follow a tarmacked path in most places through a lovely forest. It can be a bit muddy places and is quite a steep walk but...More

A must if you are in Windermere. A 20 minute walk up a stone path (not muddy) from the train station. Great views from the top.

It is probably a lot less muddy than when I visited in January but the terrain was quite steep and uneven in places and I wouldn’t take a buggy.

There is parking opposite the entrance to the walk, as far as i am aware it is free street parking. I parked there for most of the day and did not get a ticket, just outside some guest houses.
