We've done this kind of thing a few times before at places like Go Ape and Center Parcs but there's something very right and natural about doing this in the Lakes. Based at the bottom of Lake Windermere just outside Ambleside with a pretty big car park (around £5 for a three hour stay) and plenty to do aside from... More

I visited treetop trek in Windermere. It has two trails. One easy route (1hr), and one advance route (2hrs). Both trails ended with triple zip wires. The challenge is absolutely safe and it's definitely a challenge for mummy and daddy.

We went there and hadn't booked in- ( as spurr if the moment whilst in the lakes ) got a 3.30 to 5.30 spot. Quick safety brief- then off you go- the 11 yr old loved it. Me and my wife took it in turns to play with him, as no where to leave bags- some swimming pool style type... More

I took my 8 year old daughter on the 'full trek'. The instructor who gave us our safety briefing was great - professional and friendly. We did the first (lower) part of the trek and my daughter loved it, but I was already battling an innate fear of heights and decided discretion was the better part of valour when it... More

Great day was had by son as he went through the oak tree tops whilst my wife and I moved through the paths and gardens capturing his activities on cameras. We all enjoyed the day especially as the sun was shining

Fantastic fun for families with a mix of young and older children. The trek starts with gentle lower ropes and progresses to higher more challenging sections. The climax involves a long and high zip wire run. It's slightly expensive and I would have given it five stars if it was cheaper.

This is a great activity for a family or group of friends. The people working there are very safety conscious, have a great sense of fun and are very helpful. You can choose the length of trek you want - the two hour one goes much higher than the first hour. Great fun, slightly frightening but always safe. Nephew 11... More
