Had a really fun day out. Superb scenery. Unfortunately the water was really low and we got stuck on several occasions but our raft guide Darren the Scottsman really made up for it. He made sure that we did a lot of rafting games on our way down and really kept us entertained and made our team come alive even though we were with people whom we never met before!!
Couple of points to mention - we had our car keys misplaced when we arrived back so maybe a proper key locker in one of the vans would go a long way to ensure that keys don't get lost etc. Some mobile toilets and changing cabins on a low loader truck would also help improve the experience. Being charged for an extra 40 pounds for the photos afterwards is definitely something to re think, especially since the only photographer present wasn't covering all of the three rafts during our trip. For some reason he mostly stayed with one raft which apparently took his fancy and non of the games Darren managed to come up with were caught on film. Room for improvement I guess but definitely take a go pro and do your own pictures if you can.

Hi, thank you for for your feedback and response. Darren is brilliant isn't he, we are thrilled that he made up for the low water you experienced. Please accept our apologies about the keys, and the lack of photos for your group. Thank you for taking the time with your suggestions too, it is appreciated. Many thanks, Rosie Lake District White Water Rafting

Joke: What do you get if you have a southern Mancunian; an American Northern Irishman and a Eden Valley man. (Sorry Dave I hope I remembered that correctly) as guides.

Answer: A fantastic time. Boating along the Eden paradise.

The waters were low, the height of a heatwave and little rain to swell the river, regardless we rowed the pools and traversed the rapids, bouncing off the jagged stones or sliding across, when we bottomed out our guide who had lost the line was quick to give us a push in the needed direction to free us once more. We saw Tony Montana high on the cliff's and the mysterious botanical greenhouse on shores no longer permitted to visit by lowly woman nor man, a shame and a silver lining in one.

Our amazing guide the honourable J regaled us with jokes so swift and poor that it made us laugh all that much harder. My father of 71 and of poor hearing was a poor wingman in support but laughed the hardest. My daughter of 11 looked on in bewildered amusment but squealed with delight at every grade 3 rapid and asked that we repeat them again.

The magic of the day was complete when we came full circle back to the bridge from which we originally departed.

I highly recommend this adventure to everyone, it was a highlight of our 2022 Lakes Holiday!

This was one of the best experiences we have done anywhere in the UK. From start to finish my family group laughed and screamed as we made our way down some scary rapids at Fell Foot. James, Chris and Dave were totally entertaining throughout but still remained professional which meant we all felt safe in their expert hands. This has been a real highlight of our activity holiday and i would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks guys. Tony, Tammie, Indi, Ash & Sally (Frank)

We have just returned from a nice 4 day break in the Lake District Walking and Sailing. However the reason for the choice of venue was to experience White Water Rafting which we booked November 2020 as a Christmas Present for my wife. We took 2 friends with us who have a dog and we asked if it was possible to look after the dog while we were in the rafts. We were delighted when we were told the driver of the van delivering the equipment would be able to look after the dog for a couple of hours. In February we realised the April trip was not going to be possible due to Covid and moved the booking to June which we were assured was no problem.
A week before we were due to travel we received an e mail informing us of a venue change much further North due to lack of water which we accepted. This prompted me to ring Lake District White Water Rafting who said they did not remember agreeing to look after the dog and offered our money back. This was massively disappointing as we wanted to go rafting. The way this was handled was totally unprofessional as it seems they do not write notes on customer bookings.
When we booked this company had no bookings and informed us near the event that they were oversubscribed which is why they were so keen to return out money. It is no surprise to me that people in the UK choose to holiday abroad when faced with ethics of this paucity.

Hello Richard, Thank you for taking the time to share our unfortunate experience with the wider public. What can we say? Most of it is true, we did say we'd look after your dog. However, after another lockdown, a drought which we were managing, and us changing how we use our vehicles, things did change. Once we realised our mistake, we were working on bringing in someone trusted, specifically to look after the dog, at entirely our own cost. We remembered our lovely conversation at the time of booking, and knew that this trip to the Lake District was centred around the White Water Rafting. We really didn't want to let you down. As it happened, we didn't get to confirm an alternative dog sitter within the promised window of that evening/ morning, and as you seemed to be so concerned that we had been holding your money for so long, and with how (rightly so) unprofessional we had been to that point, we did give you the option to have a refund. Which you took. We also offered for you to wait a little longer for us to find an adequate solution, but this wasn't what you wanted. We are sorry for the whole unfortunate incident, it really wasn't something we wanted to happen. Our lesson learnt is that we can't look after people's dogs, and we really need to stick within our parameters and focus on fantastic White Water Rafting adventures. Once again, wishing you all the best, Rosie

My son and I have just been on the Rafting expedition from Newby Brige and we had great fun with James and his team.

The journey starts off slowly but builds up, there are some really big and fun rapids, especially in Backbarrow.

I can highly recommend it to anyone, they are a great crew and look after everyone, but there is always the opportunity to have a little more 'edgy' fun, if you want to push the bounds!

Nice to be able to have warm shower afterwards as well!

Thanks for a great day out.

We had a fantastic day out on the water! We went to the North Lakes and spent 4.5 hours on the water doing rapids, swimming (definitely needed as it was 28 degrees), and having an absolute blast. Chris was our amazing skipper who made sure we were having an absolute blast, telling us lots about rafting, and keeping us going in the right direction. Would definitely recommend as a day out in the Lakes!

What a perfect end to our holiday. James was professional and had a great sense of humour. With 2 teenager girls, he kept them entertained and definitely catered to their sense of adventure. The secret waterfall jump and river swimming was definitely the highlight of the day, especially since we were able to take our time and thoroughly enjoy the experience. Enormous fun, great value for money and we highly, highly recommend James and his team for a super day out.

Definitely recommend this to anyone.
The trip was due to take place from fell foot park (south lakes) but changed to the river Eden (north lakes) as water levels were a lot better, even though the location changed we were notified far enough in advance via email which was very informative.

I arrived slightly nervous about the trip ahead but was quickly put at ease by james our fantastic raft guide who was not only funny but also very professional and enthusiastic about his job.
He made sure we were happy, safe, having fun and Warm (with tea and biscuits).
We played Games and an had a little Unexpected little jump in the waterfall half way down the river which Definitely made the trip.
Chris who was also raft guide on the second raft was also very fun. They both knew their stuff...

What a fab day we had and I would Definitely do this again and would love to try the south lakes next time.
Thankyou james and Chris for a memorable experience.

What an incredible day! We couldn't recommend Lake District White Water Rafting highly enough. James was fantastic - knowledgeable, professional and hilarious! The scenery was spectacular and we were able to explore areas of the Lake District that you'd never experience otherwise. The whole day was brilliantly organised and so much fun. We will definitely be back!
