The high street is surprisingly large and has such a great range of restaurants and cafes. High quality outdoor shops with some decent clothing and gift stores. Very well kept, clean and prosperous which is nice to see. Lovely town!

Plenty of restaurants. We sat and watched the birds fed on the shore line. Plenty of boat hire/steamer trips to be had.

We usually avoid the shops but the high street is quaint enough, but it is always busy, the only time i've ever seen this street quiet is very early in the morning. People travel from all over the world to visit Windermere time and time...More

The streets and sidewalks are quite narrow in the town itself. The lakeside is good for wheelchairs and walking frames.

Parking in or around the actual street is never easy. Better to drive through the town to the Lakeside where there are a couple of bigger car parks and walk back.

Yes there is a Trespass shop on lake road in Windermere and I am sure there are several other outdoors supplies shops in the area as there are so many activities carried out in the areas
