Went here as our last stop before leaving the lake district. Me and my husband went just the two of us. We both enjoyed a few hours relaxing doing decopatch. Good prices, friendly staff.

We visited with our 7 year-old, he very much enjoyed choosing and painting a small statuette (a rather rounded little superhero) and we enjoyed not being rained on, and drinking instant coffee. Would visit again to try the 'decopatch' (decorating sculptures with sticky paper), the pottery or the mosaicing.

We were possibly a bit older than their usual target audience, as we are all adults, but we were welcomed warmly and had great fun making pots on the Potter’s wheel, as well as painting several clay animals. A really inspirational place! All our painted items were fired and then posted to us. Everything received in perfect condition!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Crafty Monkeys! It is mostly aimed at children and families although that did not stop us! we had lots of fun painting a water bowl for our pets! There is lots of activities to chose from and the staff aren't intrusive. As we were going home the staff said they would post our bowl... More

Came here last week whilst camping in the lakes with my family. Great, low budget activity, could easily spend a lot of time here (and more money). Loads of different things to do from decopauge to pottery painting. Staff who run the shop are lovely and pleasant and professional and very child friendly ( they even have a baby gate... More

Spent a lovely morning here with the kids. They painted sharks, dragons and princesses. Then we got their handprints put on tiles for our new house. These were posted to Ireland for us as we were leaving that day and they needed to go in the oven.

Our daughter had already been with her Grand-parents and had repeatedly asked to go with us. I am so glad we did. We visited for her 12th birthday and got so involved with Decopatch that 2 1/2 hours dripped away! The two ladies were welcoming, offered exactly the right amount of help, and generally engendered a lovely atmosphere. There's plenty... More

Visited Crafty Monkeys in March to make pots and paint ceramics. The studio is a great idea and the staff are friendly enough but the place is lacking direction. Having booked to make a pot on the wheel, the question 'Do you know what you're doing?' was answered with 'No'. No instructions were forthcoming, so we guessed. Having had no... More

I was surprised to receive this review as full guidance is always offered; then we remembered you. When offered guidance you stated that you had studied pottery at college for over a year and didn't require any. You dismissed our potter and subsequently just started helping yourself to more clay. You actually intimidated members of staff to the point that... More
