This is a very varied and interesting park that includes a cricket field and old-fashioned cricket pavilion in the larger part of the park, and a smaller, more landscaped part with grass tennis courts and bowling green.
You also get a view of the surrounding fells and can walk along the river.
There is a cafe of the edge of the park where you can have a drink or an icecream.
Very nice place to spend an hour or two.

A great dog walking place if you are staying in Keswick. Safe to let dogs off lead and nice and flat for a run. There is a nice pathed circular walk past the museum and along the river. Lots of sporty things to do or watch and a small play park. Best find was a great new BMX track up on the hill!

I visited Fitz Park as well as Hope Park on my most recent visit and was quite impressed with Fitz Park. More so than Hope Park, it caters for fitness activities with an outdoor gym, BMX track, tennis courts and bowls, all of which have returned after the coronavirus lockdown, although the mini golf and football pitches appear not to be in use. If sports aren't your thing, the walk along the river to Keswick Football Club is very pleasant in summer and the ornamental garden is pleasant to walk through.

Not really part of the park, but about 100 yards away, railway enthusiasts should visit the former Victorian railway station, which has been restored as part of a hotel, and walk along the former railway line towards Threlkeld.

We came across this park by chance as the bus from Threlkeld stopped opposite! It is a large park with different sections, including tennis courts and bowling greens. There are attractive borders filled with plants and trees and lovely tree carvings. There is a footbridge over the river towards the town in one direction and towards the Keswick Museum and the Railway line walk to Threlkeld in the other. There are amazing views of Latrigg and Skiddaw. We had a pleasant walk round on a sunny day. You can also walk along the riverside.

Nice big park to walk through.
Beautiful in the sunshine.
Good size play area.
Plenty of sporting activities and nice little cafe.
Highly recommend a visit.
Some areas need TLC but to be expected.
Local youth hangout in places but to be expected (we were all young once)

We are staying at a hotel nearby and visited this park. It has everything. Lawn tennis, bowls and great keep fit exercise machines free of charge. It’s well looked after and a very relaxing area with great views.

My wife and I spent hours enjoying this extensive park (28 acres) during our holiday stay in Keswick. The River Greta flows along the full length of the park side nearest the town centre whilst on the opposite side there are spectacular views on a clear day of Latrigg, Skiddaw and the Northern Fells. We visited the fascinating Keswick Museum and Art Gallery (well worth a visit), watched cricket and bowling matches and noticed that it also offers children's playgrounds and a BMX track. We marvelled at the landscaped gardens and the wide variety of trees, shrubs and flowers planted throughout the park and enjoyed sitting on the many seats conveniently located to take in the beauty of this park and the wonderful views. It's a 'must see' on a visit to Keswick!

Beautiful little park situated on the edge of Keswick town centre.
Very well presented, full of plants & trees. Plenty of seating, a kids play area and a nice picnic spot at the side of the river.
Also leads on to Keswick to Threlkeld railway path, great for walkers, joggers and cyclists.

We primarily just did a river walk through the park and then headed back but there are plenty of things to do there. It is a well kept park and has football, cricket, tennis, and bmx facilities as well as a play area and outdoor gym equipment so I imagine it is very popular with the locals/dog walkers.
