A wonderful little cinema.
Sep 2020
A wonderful little cinema which has worked out how to allow its patrons to enjoy the cinematic experience and be safe during Covid.
The staff are warm and friendly and therefore make this a relaxed place to visit.
It was a real treat to revisit "Little Women" on the big screen and to appreciate the quality of the film.
Looking forward to our next trip to Keswick and visiting the Alhambra.

Small but great

Very relaxed place to visit and they trust their patrons enough to allow them to have a glass of wine or a cup of tea of coffee with them whilst watching a film.

Lovely but very loud
Sep 2020
lovely little cinema, due to social distancing all we could book was 2 x 2 seats, we got an email asking if we were a family and would we like 4 together, we ended up in beteer seats.
the down side was the volume was far too loud and i had to take one of my boys out as he struggles sometimes with intense noise. Even i found the voices distorted and hard to understand due to the volume. My hubby and other son thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Lovely evening

Thank you for an experience from the past. A lovely old fashioned single screen cinema. Very friendly with complimentary tea and coffee before the film. Excellent value compared to some of the modern multi screen cinemas these days. Always love going to the Alhambra.

Best ever birthday treat
Nov 2019
We live in Cockermouth, when our son wanted to go to the cinema as a birthday treat, we checked the local cinema's for screenings and booked daytime tickets at the Alhambra. When we arrived we were met by the friendly and enthusiastic owner, who also showed us to our seats. We were the only people in the balcony, yet still had our seats reserved with head rest covers. Before the film started we were invited up into he projection room to have a peek where the magic happens and the birthday boy even got to press the buttons to start the film. The auditorium is stunning, the seats comfortable and the welcome faultless.

Lovely Cinema
Feb 2020
The Alhambra is a lovely old fashioned cinema with good old fashioned service to go along with it. The seating is very comfortable and the views unrestricted. The quality of the sound track is excellent. Prices to get in are very good. We went to the Alhambra twice and we can thoroughly recommend visiting the cinema.

Old School Cinema
Jan 2020
This is an amazing theatre style 'picture house' with a balcony ( in operation for over 100 years) which shows mainstream blockbusters. Was privileged to watch the latest "Star Wars' movie there - so enjoyable.

What a fabulous cinema, it is beautiful. It gave me an absolute feeling of joy, just so beautiful, like stepping back in time. Welcoming, lovely staff and free coffee. Seats comfortable and screen excellent. We loved it and wish we lived here for the cinema club. Fab!

We love this cinema. Being going there since “back to the future” was on in the eighties. Even though we live nearer the multiscreen cinema in workington we try and wait so we can see films in our favourite cinema. Far nicer with lovely staff, comfortable seats and not deafening.

Lovely old picture house
Dec 2019
Lovely old picture house with all mod cons!! Lovely free coffee or tea on arrival. We sat in the balcony, brought back many memories!! Beautiful old framed pictures around. Old fashioned sweets and snacks in entrance, what more could you want!!
A must visit!!!
