Good trip

We took the launcher from Keswick to Portinscale then walked anti clockwork down to Brandlehow high and picked up the boat again. Lovely staff but I did find it a little over... read more

Sounds odd but the engines are really noisy and sort of ruin the peacefulness of the lake! Really enjoyed the round trip - other than one small child who insisted on making a silly noise (his mother was too busy talking on her mobile to take any notice) but my full on stare soon stopped him. Beautiful scenery to look... More

Decided to take a boat trip around the lake, there are various landing stages so we opted for a ticket that enabled us to get on and off wherever we liked. The Boat was at the Lodore Hotel landing stage bang on time, and off we went, I guess it depends on what driver you get, this one was terrible,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our boat trip, which lasted about an hour. It was the last trip of the day, so was very quiet. There are options to stop off at different places but we stayed on and did a round trip of the lake. Definitely the best way to see the beautiful lake and scenery.

Went on the early evening cruise with the hubby .As it was a Monday night there was only eight passengers. We were asked when we booked if we would like a complimentary soft drink or a glass of wine. On boarding the boat we were greeted by 2 really friendly staff one driving and the other who poured us our... More

Lovely little boat ride on Derwentwater. Part of the boat is sheltered and part outside. We had a good view of the beautiful scenary and enjoyed our trip. My 3 year did start to get bored after about 30 minutes but then he started taking his own photos and liked it again. The whole trip took about 50-60 minutes. I... More

This was a lovely trip. The boat stops of at 5 different places around the Lake. We used it to walk to Castle Crag. Be careful as some of the stopping off points are close to each other and the boat does not always stop at all of them.

You can sit outside or under cover. If you sit right in the bow you can get splashes from the bow wave. Sit outside a little further to the middle. You can travel clockwise or anticlockwise around the lake seeing a different view each time. Very comfortable seating and helpful staff.

I would highly recommend hiring one of the small motor boats for an hour rather than a passenger on the bigger boats. I have previously hired a boat on Windermere so thought I would try Derwent water for a change and I was not disappointed. After buying a ticket for £29 (I think it was around that price, cheaper than... More

Lovely boat ride around Derwent Water. Stops at several points around the lake then you hop on the next boats that cones along! So simple and relaxing, even when a bit rainy! Worth taking a ride if around the area!
