About
A unique exhibition based on optical illusion. Witness balls rolling uphill in the antigravity room, visibly grow and shrink in the Ames room and be amazed by our interactive optical illusion exhibits, artwork and sculptures, as well as the hologram gallery!

An Hour Of Illusions
Oct 2020 • Friends
A great hour at the puzzling place, definitely a must do if visiting Keswick.

A great value for money and great fun exploring the wonders and distortion the museum has to offer.

Great and Entertaining
Nov 2020 • Family
Great place to visit and spend an hour. My 8 & 10 year olds loved it. Lots of different things to look at at your leisure. The illusion are quite interesting and certainly kept the kids entertained and interested.

Fun way to burn a rainy hour.

A funny little spot to burn an hour and have a little laugh and certainly have some funny photos to bring home from the illusion rooms. I would say though that this is more suited to younger families.

Interesting little find
Oct 2020 • Family
Family of 5 with 2 boys (11 & 12yrs) went in half term. Needed to pre-book and wear masks for Covid security. Definitely worth a visit; it’s only small but what is in there is good fun. Had to queue a bit to get in certain areas but not too long. Lots of different puzzles, pictures and illusions to look at. We all enjoyed it. Perfect for a rainy day!

Very exiting visit. Would definitely go back.

Warning: DO NOT go there if you get dizzy, nauseous easily or just hate illusions

A bit of quirkiness not to be missed!
Oct 2020 • Family
In these strange times I was looking for things to do in the Lakes with my 13 year old son. With the pencil museum closed, and most of the National Trust properties closed (save for the gardens) I was yes something “different” to do that was inside as the weather is shocking. Found The Puzzling Place by general searching. Well worth a visit. Different and thought provoking. A bit of fun for all ages (I’m 54). We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Great Fun and Great Value
Oct 2020 • Couples
We were on a day visit to Keswick and found this place by chance. So pleased we gave it a try. All very Covid compliant, sanitiser everywhere, only one group allowed in feature rooms at a time. The Gravity Room was amazing! Great fun for adults and children, at a very reasonable price. We spent about 50 minutes here, but only because car parking ticket was running out! We will definitely return and spend a bit longer next time. Well done to all involved.
