Stunning feats of engineering! Not too much ducking mostly in large cavernous spaces, well lit so no need to be worried if afraid of dark spaces, didn't feel enclosed at all. It was very cold I would advise to wear layers and gloves. Lovely tour...More

I would recommend Via Ferrara extreme to anyone, but book it through another company. We arrived for the 9.00am session and the weather was 'atmospheric' to say the least. My girlfriend was quite worried about the high wind and I politely enquired at reception if...More

Fantastic tour with two five year olds, led by Donald. Highly recommended. The right length of time. It gets cold in the mines all year round so wrap up warm when you go.

Amazing place, we learned a lot about the history of slate mining and the hard working conditions of the miners. Glad we booked the tour in advance, as it was a very busy day and all other adventures were already booked out. It's quite a...More

Either I'm getting really old or I was genuinely interested by Donald's very knowledgeable and humorous tour on the mining operation and modern history; must be good 'cos even my 9 year old daughter really enjoyed it.

The charge of £12 per person was not worth it - maybe £5 per head would be more reasonable. The whole reception area was very rudimentary (for an alleged 'attraction') with not enough seating for the numbers that were expected and it was very cold...More

We didn't book in advance for the tour before we went so didn't visit the actual mine. Hadn't realised the tour took about 1.5hrs and as the tour that was fully booked we decided we would come another time. The actual place has a small...More

Yes we have the Kimberley Mine tour that runs daily. It's mainly on the level and is a fairly flat surface. It goes approximately 200m inside the mine. It will involve stooping downwards slightly for approximately 40m. I... More

The guide that takes you an the Via Ferrata takes lots of photos of you and others on the route. When you get down from the activity you'll have the chance to look at all the photos on a slide show at the main desk. You'll... More
