We visited the via ferreta xtreme after a long wait due to lockdown. Gary was a fantastic guide who was really knowledgeable and very reassuring, he clearly loves his job! You absolutely do have to have a certain level of fitness and strength to get to the end of this activity as it’s not an easy thing to do (it is NOT a go ape level of adventure). The views at the top are breathtaking and I’m so pleased I go there. Well organised, Covid safe and a great morning out - thanks to all at honister slate mine.

Me and my boyfriend did the via ferreta extreme here! We are both pretty fit and love a good challenge, but boy did this experience provide a challenge! Definitely not one for the faint hearted. We weren't too sure what to expect and when we first started I did worry that we'd bitten off more than we could chew, but our instructor Mike made sure that we were safe the entire time and gave us helpful tips for navigating certain obstacles. The view at the end was incredible too! Nice to have the opportunity to buy photos on a memory stick, as who doesn't want to show off on social media after? Would thoroughly recommend for anyone who likes an adrenaline rush!

My partner and I joined a 3pm via Ferrata xtreme adventure and loved every minute of it. Our instructor Sam was really friendly and we had a good laugh with him. Stunning views and a fantastic climb, leaving you feeling a little achy the next day but in the best way. The view point (although quite a few steep steps to get to it) was absolutely stunning and I would absolutely return. Our only slight criticism and this is probably inevitable was just that if you are at the front of the group you do have to sit and wait for quite a while for the rest of the group to catch up - although a brilliant opportunity to look at the scenery and catch your breath it felt a bit stop start. Will definitely be recommending to any friends who visit the Lake District and walked away feeling good. Thanks Sam!

Took the family for an amazing day out on the Via Ferrata Xtreme. They had a great time with a super enthusiastic and fun instructor. What was even more impressive though was when my elderly mother slipped on the road on the way up from the mine and I went to ask for help. Jan, one of the owners appeared in no time at all with a landrover and we went and picked my mum up and brought her down the mountain. It turned out my mother had fractured her pelvis in the fall . Can't thank Jan enough for her help that day. Dr Steve Dorman
