We were staying for a week in a cottage just outside Windermere and one day decided to visit Kendal. My wife loves buying vintage items for our house and garden and said that we must visit the Antiques Emporian. It proved to be a bit of an Aladdin's cave of items for sale and she bought a couple of items on our first visit. There was however something that she wasn't sure about buying but after a couple of days of thinking about it back we went to get it. Luckily it was still in stock.

I tried my best to negotiate a price reduction just as they do on 'Bargain Hunt' and other antiques programmes on the TV but there is a house rule that there is no negotiation on items priced at £20 or below, and as it was priced at £18, that was the price that had to be paid. My wife was happy with this however as from a look on sites such as ebay the item she bought usually sells for around £25.

Well worth visiting if you have the time to spare.

We’d picked out the Emporium as a place to visit before arriving in Kendal, as it was at the opposite side of town it provided a decent walk and a good chance to stroll around an antiques shop.
The place itself was not dis-similar to several we’ve visited before with lots of dealers all having their own area stacked high with antiques and in some cases brick a brac.
We spent a good hour and a half looking at all the dealers wares which all brought memories of earlier years and childhood rushing back. There were a couple of items we may well have purchased if we hadn’t been on foot, but the fact we didn’t always leaves us the chance of a return visit.

I first visited following a review in a local magazine early in the new year. So unlike any other antique shop I have ever visited before. The venue is divided into bays which are individually rented out so stock is changing continually. All the bays were imaginatively set out with clear descriptions/prices on each article. It really was a walk down memory lane for me with good quality toys, clothes, appliances, furniture and bric a bac that reminded me of my early childhood and far beyond. Really an education and highly pleasurable experience rolled into one. A warm welcome and absolutely no pressure to purchase, you are free to roam and browse to your heart's content. There are toilets on site and parking, it is also all on the level so is wheelchair friendly or, if you are like me and walk with sticks it really isn't a problem. All this and with a coffee shop just around the corner. I understand this establishment first opened in November 2014, it deserves to be a success so please do add it to your list of things to do whilst visiting the beautiful Lake District, you wont be disappointed.

I know it's antiques but everything was so overpriced, abit repetitive the seller's all seem to do the same thing except for the odd one . Not too big but it doesn't need to be as no variety sorry.

Lots of sellers little of what I would consider antiques, some of it looked it looked like a house clearance of.an older person and it was just picked up and put here, that's down to sellers not this place.
Did pick up a nice crystal whiskey glass and plenty to look at but not my cup of tea, with what was available.
Would not go out of my way to visit again but worth popping in if your interested in "modern" antiques.

well ive been to many places like this and to be honest was expecting a glorified craft and jumblesale, but NO. this place despite strange parking forced on them with the buildings layout, is packed with well presented quality collectables at reasonable prices. you could have knocked me over with a feather!. lots of glass cases full of interesting items, stuff for guys, girls old and young and even a vintage toy section. would defo go again, though its not "massive" i hope good turn over of stock will justify a revisit in a couple of months. certainly an hour or 2 looking round here, well donr to em, nice to see these days :)

I was really impressed by the quantity and quality of the stock here. I buy and sell all over the UK and Europe and was pleased by the centre overall.
The staff were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and willing to show stock and cabinets. I left with some great purchases and the desire to return and soon!
The toilets are lovely too!
I cannot hesitate to recommend this centre for a visit to any friends or strangers.
For a new venture the Emporiumists have got it bang on and all strength to them.

Don’t think you will be popping in here for a quick wiz round .....! What a characterful place, good selection of traders and specialities - genuine antiques, vintage and collectibles. Top it off with Bella the liver brown ‘bear’ (really a stunning New Found-land) who is the able assistant at the till!
A plethora of goods to rummage through and admire especially the industrial ‘recycled/up cycled’ goods for the trendy modern kitchen. My sister’s were in 7th heaven! benches, trivet, lighting fittings etc
Oh and proper clean customer toilet facilities - thank you.
Enjoy!

Popped in here as my wife is obsessed with antiques and collectibles... she wasn't disappointed. The place is a tardis! Filled with knick-knacks, clocks, watches, furniture, clothing of all different shapes sizes and eras. The staff are lovely and down to earth too. Prices were reasonable. Nice clean toilet facilities. Free parking (about 5 spaces from memory).

Lot of small items but disappointed in the quality of a lot on offer. Reasonable prices for small 20thC items. The small bays make it difficult to show furniture and larger pieces.
