Booked cinema tickets on-line. Found the website easy to use, tickets sent to my phone. On arrival the staff were great, friendly and welcoming. Just what was needed on a rainy day. Seats were really comfy and there was a good atmosphere in the cinema. Will have to make the effort to use more of these facilities. 😀😀

Met friends in the bar for a pizza and a drink. Excellent pizza. Good service.
However, Online booking is “over the top”!. I was not comfortable to provide so much personal information just to book a table. In addition, Telephone booking didn’t have any feedback to say the booking was successful or not.
We love the Brewery and try to visit when in Kendal.
The bar area has lost its character though. It looks more like a cafe. The recent internal changes (due to covid I understand) are not good in my view. Shame.

Went to the restaurant before seeing a film, table was ready when we arrived as we booked ahead, staff were friendly and a delight, food came very quickly and was delicious. very generous portion sizes as well so no going hungry here. We only went as it seemed convenient but it was really great and we'll definitely be returning! Also helped that the film was great as well, very pleased that such a nice venue gets all the latest films while remaining personal and retaining a 'small cinema' feel.

Nice cinema rooms, comfy seats, friendly staff , parking (paid) and a bit overcharged snacks, specially for a cold popcorn. Overall good experience. Coming back!

I found the staff in the bar/restaurant to be excellent and the pizza was too but my friend's cannelloni was tepid in the middle and that was a disappointment.

However, the main disappointment was disabled access. My other friend is 'ambulant' i.e. he can walk short distances and prefers not to use a wheelchair unless in airports etc where the distances between terminals etc can be quite long.

Long story short, the main automatic ground floor doors (which provide access to lifts) would not open to allow access back into the building at 8.30 pm which obstructed his journey after he'd topped up his parking ticket.

Then at 10.30, the same automatic doors were closed from the inside so he couldn't get out after the cinema. Getting in at 8.30 pm would have been impossible for him had I not been there to help, and getting out at 10.30 was even worse. Had I not been able to scour the building for someone to come and open the doors (At which point three staff assisted us, which felt a bit over the top, but would have been OK had there not been the strong feeling that the lady involved was inferring blame on us), he would have been stuck there for the night. As he was stressed and walked-out by this point.

My friend found this all to be exhausting and painful and ultimately humiliating. Slightly cold cannelloni is one thing, but poor disability access is another.

There are more details I could go into here regarding the disappointing access issues, suffice to say, these are just the high points (low points) of the access story on what otherwise had been a pleasant evening watching the incredible movie The Ones That Got Away presented by Trevor Avery of the Lake District Holocaust Project and director David Wilkinson.

I feel bad awarding just one star and withholding my support from what is actually a wonderful venue, in doing so I hope to draw attention to the problems outlined above.

Wanting to eat before a film show we booked a table in the restaurant. It was ready when we arrived, the service was quick and efficient, the food excellent. A very satisfactory evening out.

We have been here for food and beer on previous visits to Kendal and really enjoyed it. We had been warned that it had lost a lot of cosiness and atmosphere following a recent refit, though were still keen to visit for a much-anticipated end of weekend pizza. In fact, we planned our evening around meeting a friend here for pizzas and ales. We checked the opening hours on the website before setting off, to make sure that they definitely served food Sunday evenings.

When we arrived at 6pm, the place was in darkness, with locked doors. Perhaps this was a Covid precaution and there was a new entrance? Nope. We found a member of staff, who told us the place was closed and recommended we try Pizza Express. Not impressed!

We are sorry you made the trip to us without realising our Bar & Restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings. All of our opening times are available on our website. We hope you enjoyed the film and that we can welcome you back again for beer and delicious pizza soon.

Absolutely wonderful in the restaurant. The staff were just incredible. Welcoming, polite, funny and great attention to us. I would give definitely give 100/100 and recommend. The food was very good. Bar area was fine. We got a comfy sofa ad table but maybe a few more chairs for seating.

Great place to see a film. A little concerned that seating wasn't spaced out especially there weren't that many people watching. Everyone was bunched together which felt unsafe. We ate in the restaurant afterwards. We were sat in the bar area which was absolutely fine until crowds descended. It was packed, there were hardly any masks worn and there was no social distancing at all. Our table was surrounded by people waiting at the bar. There was no attempt made to control this. Would we visit again? Yes, we would. But we would look more closely at seats in the cinema and would choose our restaurant table more wisely.

Hi Chris, thank you for your feedback. We do still have some distancing measures in place, some of these include tables being kept at least 1 metre apart, staff wearing masks and signs encouraging customers to wear masks when moving around the building. We also have disposable masks available and our staff carry out regular lateral flow tests. To read our full Covid Safety measures, please visit our website: https://www.breweryarts.co.uk/brewery-arts-centre-covid-19-safety-measures/ Thank you for visiting, we hope to welcome you again soon!
