We went here as we were in Hawkshead and have a NT card.I really enjoyed seeing the little sketches and ideas of Beatrix Potter and what an acomplished artist she was. It is in a quirky little building where her husband worked, a lovely place to see.

Beatrix Potter's illustrations are truly beautiful. Her ability to capture the character of the animals is stunning. She sounds as though she was quite a formidable lady yet her artwork is delicate and sensitive. This place is such a must visit while in the lakes. Even my teenagers loved it.

Tickets for entry to the Beatrix Potter Gallery can be obtained nearby. A very interesting building with some lovely items to view and read and gain an insight into the life and works of Beatrix Potter. Car parking is available nearby and Hawkshead is on the regular bus route. This is a lovely small town with many interesting shops and... More

Was disappointed as although was in Beatrixs husbands offices - a really old house in its former state A what was in show wasn't at all interesting for children tbh. £6 each ! National trust card holders is free. Little village was cute but not a lot there really. Disappointed with national trusts lack of marketing etc

Really enjoyed looking around this gallery. Only small but full of lovely Beatrix Potter paintings. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Lovely little shop too.

A perfect village to visit and enjoy all it had to offer. The access is not good if your disabled or cannot climb stairs, but unfortunately your visiting a National Trust property which is in its original condition. There are a number of original illustrations and information on display. A lovely exhibition and worthwhile visit.

This gallery is a fascinating little place and shows how talented Beatrix Potter really was. We visited while filling time between booking at Hill Top and waiting for our timed entry slot to the house. Yes it's dark, yes it's a little cramped in places, but every effort has been made to preserve and display as many pieces of artwork... More

A wide range of Beatrix Potter's art is on display in what was once her husband's solicitors' offices in Hawkshead. We were able to enjoy the.gallery taking our time in viewing the wide range of subject matter - and admiring her skill as an artist. Well worth combining a visit to the gallery with a visit to her home at... More

not an easy place to find tucked away in the village opposite the spar shop, reasonable entry fee, you pay at one place then cross the road to the gallery , inside there is a warm welcome and lots of beautiful drawings by Beatrix ,quite a small place and there are information screens and a small book and activity room... I was looking forward to seeing the gallery but was disappointed with the lack of access being in a wheelchair. There are just 2 rooms downstairs and none of her artwork is displayed here. There is a short video about Beatrix Potter's life, and an interactive screen in the window, but due to the light and the height and angle... More
