We visited the gallery after we had been to Hill Top and it was well worth it. There are so many illustrations that Beatrix Potter did in here on view for all to see. The pictures we see in the books don't do them justice, they are so pretty. The gallery was once the office of Beatrix's husband - William... More

While this is a very nice house, it is small and one does see it very quickly. The staff were very knowledgable about the life of Beatrix Potter and the garden was well-maintained. The only thing was that the visit was a bit expensive (£10 or £11 with donation).

This added to my tour of Hilltop and knowledge of Bestrix Potter. Original illustrations for her books.

Only found this moderately interesting. The building itself was used by the village solicitor and some of the stuff he left behind is also on view...

If you are interested in Beatrix Potter's work, then a visit here is a must. Doesn't matter which way round you do things Hilltop first or the gallery. Don't miss either.

This is a collection of Potter's original artwork and other treasures from her time in the Lake District. It doesn't take terribly long to go through, but if you are a Potter fan, it is a must.

This is a small but delightful gallery devoted to the work of Beatrix Potter. You can get through it quickly, or you can linger for hours. Copies of most of her books are lying about to peruse, and there is a gift shop with a comprehensive collection of her books and a nice selection of other things. The display itself... More

An unexpected bonus, having visited Hilltop. Great to see her talent showcased in a relevant setting. Great memories of childhood!
