Visited for the Lego exhibition. Lovely building. Great staff. Car parking very reasonable charge.whilst not having a cafe , drinks trolley was adequate and sold very reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

Great lego exhibition at present
Jan 2019 • Family
This is an amazing archive if you are researching your (local) family history. But in addition to this, there are frequent exhibitions in the vestibule.

At present it is a FREE Lego history exhibition which is really amazing. It gives a real insight into history through the ages to appeal to the younger generation. The detail and scale of some models is incredible! Our 7 year old grandson was really interested and fascinated by some of the exhibits, particularly the 3D globe and medieval castle. There is also a room full of loose Lego for amateur builders to 'have a go'.

I highly recommend this exhibition for all ages, adults and children alike. It is on until early March I believe.

With free admission and plenty of toilets it is an excellent venue. However it was extremely busy and crowded on the Saturday afternoon when we visited.

Discovered a brother i didnt know existed
Jan 2018 • Couples
Thanks to Hull History centre my brother found me with help from the amazing staff. I was born in 1946 and brought up by my grandmother, children born out of wedlock was a no no back then. My mother then had a son a year later and he was adopted and never knew he was, his adopted parents never told him. He was always told he was an only child. He moved to Australia 27 years ago to give his family a better life and it was only after his adopted parents died that he began looking into the family history that he found out he was adopted. A massive shock for him. He came back to Hull as he had for many years to visit his wife's family only this time he went to the history centre and discovered a while new family brothers sisters nephews and so on.
He contacted me and we met for the first time. He's been back twice more. We talk on What s app all the time. A massive thank you to the wonderful staff who went above and beyond to help us meet.

Informative
Aug 2018 • Solo
Went to ask if they had info on my grandfather's work as an ARP warden. They had his registration card, which I was able to handle nearly 80 years after he did. Really helpful and friendly staff, full of good information.
