Expensive

Went to see Dune, very expensive seats now for what experience you get. Other cinemas cheaper now. Understand time is difficult and need to get people in but keep hiking up prices, people will not go.

Cinema Night in Hull
Nov 2021 • Couples
Watched The Eternals last night. Fantastic recliner seats and overall a good experience. Not that cheap for seats though.

Felt like a expedition in Antarctica!!!

Vastly overpriced, £6 for 2 bags of sweets which are 90p in the local Tesco’s. Understand it’s a Cinema but they will be the first to complain when they go out of business. Long waiting times and the place was absolutely freezing, shivered through the entire James Bond film. Should supply blankets, charge the earth but can’t afford to pay for central heating.

Unnecessary queues
Oct 2021 • Couples
Stay away! They’ve introduced machines for ordering food and drinks and people struggle to find, select and pay for what they want. This results in stupidly long queues just to buy two cokes! You then have to wait in another queue whilst the bar staff sort out your order. It took 30 minutes last night for 2 cokes!! Yes a complete joke.

If you want a luxury cinema experience go to Everyman.

Terrible experience
Apr 2021 • Family
I’ve rated 1 star as I can’t rate zero, I’ve used odeon for years, mainly due to the nachos and value for money, staff used to be friendly and human too, since Covid came apparently you don’t have to be nice and polite to customers anymore and hide behind your masks, instead we struggled to use a robot to buy snacks to then go pick up wasting valuable time before the film ( we arrived 15 minutes early) if I’d have known I’d be dealing with a useless robot under pressure with a line of people building up behind me (as it wasn’t working the touch screen) I wouldn’t have bothered, in fact my 6 year old ended up with 3 big sized bowls of salsa with his nachos as machine was useless, staff didn’t want to help at all as they’re relieved of their duties due to Covid, but they did make sure we filled in the track and trace so that’s their bit done , oh yes and tried to usher us out the back door with 3 children busting for the toilet at lifter the film. Miserable experience, so disappointed

Great cinema, best in Hull
Oct 2020 • Solo
Brilliant cinema, I was always a fan of Odeon Hull, even when it became run down in the mid 2010s (mainly due to the amazing nachos!)

Since the refurb a couple of years ago, I have been pretty much once a week (aside from. When closed in March 2020) and I still love the place.

I decided to leave this review after visiting tonight, as the last couple of times I've visited, the staff have been excellent, but tonight it hit home how the cinema industry has been hit by the current restrictions and lack of new films, when a number of staff thanked me for visiting tonight!

Well actually, thank you Odeon staff for opening up so us film fans have somewhere to go and see these old classic films that we never got to see first time around

turning kids away tut tut
Sep 2020 • Family
15 year old daughter and boyfriend get dropped off at the cinema, not to be picked up while after the film, using vouchers are told that they are 2 pounds short so they offer to pay in cash, but no they are not taking cash only card payments.. After buying their food and drinks they was turned away .. surely a bit of leniency, somebody could of used their card and took the 2 pound off em .. rather than just turn em away their only kids jeeze

Great Experience
Aug 2020 • Family
We had a great experience at Odeon, free parking just remember to register your car number plate when entering. We pre booked our tickets and got them printed at the easy to use ticket machine. The social distancing was really good with clear signs, sanitiser stations and one way system in and out. The staff was very friendly and brilliant at looking after us. The recliner seating is really comfortable and it was all clean. I would recommend this venue to anyone and you won’t be disappointed.

Fab cinema but this is largely outweighed by the cost of entry!
Jan 2020
We have used this cinema for at-least 8 years now. We were disappointed when it was announced to be refurbished and changed to 'Luxe' because we knew this would likely lead to a price increase per ticket! Nonetheless we were pleasantly surprised once it re-opened, the ticket price seemed reasonable with only a small increase to £7 per ticket (or so it seemed) and they really had made the cinema very comfy and stylish so it seemed worth the increase. However, we recently visited and was astounded that we were being charged £28 for two tickets! When questioned if £14 each was correct, we were informed the price is on a 'per film' basis so the price is dependent on which film you see and we happened to be booking for the more expensive film ... this coupled with our usual popcorn and drink combi came to £42 ... it is absolutely absurd that they genuinely expect you to pay nearly £50 for a film, drink and popcorn .. We cancelled our booking and went elsewhere. Unfortunately, Odeon Luxe have lost a very loyal customer and many more from what i have heard from speaking to others. £7 was reasonable .. double this is way too far.
