A wonderful day out for all the family

Although it was a cold and windy day we found a warm welcome. The grounds were spectacular, the hall is very imposing and interesting. The cafe has excellent homemade food.

Visited on Easter Sunday, impressive house! Surprised it is run by its own trust rather than NT. At least they get to decide what money is spent where. Not a bad price to get in and the food in the cafe was very nice and also reasonably priced.

The first good impression you'll enjoy here is from the helpful and charming Amy who greets you and sells you a very reasonably priced ticket. Then you'll start your tour by walking through the old stable block and clock tower. From there, you cross over to the hall's main entrance into the Great Hall. Much of the interior of the... More

I visited with two teenagers on a beautiful spring afternoon during the Easter holidays. The Easter egg hunt was very well received and it kept the boys entertained as we went through the house. The house itself is well maintained with some lovely rooms with a view over park land. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of walking options if... More

I have visited this hall lots of times with my classic car, it is a marvellous country house set in lovely grounds, an ideal place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Lovely old home, well kept but very little house or family history, not much in the way of linking through to British History (e.g. The world wars). Therefore just a set of well kept old rooms that are fun to look at for a while. Cost £10 to get in and that feels a bit on the pricey side for... More

We went early season so the house was closed. There's a café in the grounds to sit outside watching the day go by. You pay to get in the grounds and you can wander round to your hearts content. There's also giant chess / draughts. A few different walks to do, each of which takes an hour or so. If... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Burton Constable Hall. We were able to have a picnic on one of the tables near the stable block which now contains the café and shop. We followed with a coffee and a huge portion of cake. There were several interesting main meals- including vegetarian on offer. We paid to walk around the grounds-... More
