Your place to Worship, Enjoy, Explore, Belong. Hull Minster is, at one and the same time, an amazing building and a vibrant and diverse community of God's people. We love the fact that we can offer; worship from the traditional to contemporary, on Sundays and during the week; an amazing building to explore and enjoy for history and events, and an extended family where everyone is welcome to belong, whoever they are and no matter what they believe. Our cafe, Minster Kitchen, is open whenever the Minster is open so do pop down and enjoy a wonderful selection of homemade cakes, biscuits scones, savouries and soup. Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 8.30am-5pm Opening times are subject to some events. Please check our website www.hullminster.org/events to see what's happening at the Minster.

Whilst this is clearly an historic building, there wasn't anything outside or inside that really wanted me to linger other than a quick tour round or a week later when I came to write this that was memorable.

The tower tour was fascinating, and well worth the time. The guides were very knowledgeable and engaging, and the view from the top is great.

The way up the tower is the typical narrow stone spiral staircase but is no trouble with a small amount of fitness. When we got to the top it was a clear blue sky with great visibility all around. Don was an excellent guide, interesting and knowledgeable. Have previously been up Salisbury cathedral tower and this compares extremely well.

Holy Trinity Church, recently renamed Hull Minster, has a history going back over 400 years. It also is the home of the largest Pipe organ in any Parish Church in the UK dating back well over a hundred years. Unfortunately this organ looks like it is playing its last notes as it requires a rebuild costing £1.5m and an electric organ is taking its place. As you would expect from such a historic building, history abounds in its windows, floor stones and wall hangings.
Seven decades ago I was a choirboy in this church: returning after so many years was more than nostalgic: the Minster is just as beautiful and inviting now as it was then.

A really quite stunning minster in the old town of Hull. The stained glass windows and ceiling are quite spectacular. The area dedicated to our fallen service personnel is excellent

Huge church, all of the pews had been moved to one side when we visited so it looked a bit bare, a bit like a church hall. The front area where the choir and altar are was lovely and the ceilings in both areas spectacular, two side chapels were being used for what looked like storage. Many donation boxes around with signs on stating "suggested donation£5 per person". We did put a donation in but not £10 for the two of us that spend less than 15 minutes inside. Some scaffolding outside but it is still a very photogenic place from the outside, it has a square in front of it with cafes etc.

Wasnt planning on doing a tour as wasn't even aware they were available but decided to give it ago and see the hidden parts of the church, so glad we did, had a great time learning more about Hull and the Minster. I'm from Hull and still found it interesting and informative and nice to see the inner workings of one of our oldest buildings. The guides were very friendly, informative and knowledgeable and answered any question we had, at £6 it's more than worth it, even if you just want to get some good photos on the top of the tower but I even found the bells and clock interesting too, the only problem is that it maybe be difficult for some to access as you have to climb a very narrow and often steep circular stair case with 180 steps so may be difficult for some but we'll worth it if you can, highly recommend you give it a go.
