Honnington Country Fair 7th September 2014 fantastic family day out
Aug 2014
We went to this fair last year and had a fantastic day out.
There is something for every member of the family.
We live in the Cotswolds but are going again this year as it was well worth the journey.
There were many stunning Italian cars and a truly amazing number of free things for the children to do with a full day of arena events.

Family day out
Sep 2013 • Family
Honnington Equestrian Centre ran a "Country Fair" last weekend, which I felt represented excellent value for a family day out. Accessing the Centre is not easy as the road (Vauxhall Lane, Southborough) is extremely narrow and winding, but once there, there is adequate parking and clearly-marked access to the show ground.

There were many local stalls displaying arts and crafts (everything from handmade cushions to a local studio photographer) and some charity stalls, including Kent Air Ambulance, who were the "charity of the day". In addition, there were some traditional fair rides, a chair swing, small roundabout, a twirly in the sky ride, balloons and many refreshment stalls, including a hog roast and every conceivable type of liquid refreshment. There was plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your spoils from the catering area, and large, well-placed rubbish bins, so no excuse for litter!

Much entertainment was offered in the old country style, such as ferret racing, duck herding and working with huge wooden logs, all of which were free to watch. Also archery, a coconut shy, etc. etc.

I thought the entry fees were reasonable, and you could easily spend all day here, walking around all the various attractions, so I thought that it represented good value.

Fortunately it was a beautiful sunny day which no doubt helped to swell the throng, but had it rained, you could still have enjoyed yourself.

Good value and a lovely day out.
