Our first visit to the venue, centrally located and very near the train station.
As you enter there is a small but well stocked bar with good service.
I think the place holds around 250, most areas of the hall will offer you good views.
Hopefully we will be back soon

Awful town full of truly up themselves people crammed into rubbish pseudo bars (see the two negative reviews below). Luckily, it has the Forum. They should knock everything else down and just leave this place; probably the best small venue in the UK

Intimate venue that puts on masses of gigs by a great range of bands. Big names sometimes play low key or warm up gigs here. It's also a great place to see up and coming bands - Palma Violets and The Vaccines for example. We need more places like The Forum.

We travelled down from the midlands to see one of our long time favourites play. The venue is easy to find with on street parking near by. I was surprised at just how compact and basic the venue was. Once the music started all reservations dissipated. The sound quality was good The crowd was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly.

Got to see Matt Berry here as a trial when we wanted to find a music venue that didn't involve overnight stay in London.
What a great venue! It's personal because it is so small and you can get so close when at the front. Sound is really good quality.
Only downside is that once full the room will get very hot very quickly. Ticket prices are really reasonable and offer a great chance for anyone to see a band and try out new music!

The Forum is situated in a park. The room for the audience is allright, because the stage is wide and you have a good view to the musicians. The staff was friendly. The only what I missed, was Sparkling water at the bar (but maybe I am the only who miss it). All in all a nice venue to come back.

Best small music venue in the UK 2012 as voted by NME.

An experience in itself, yes the toilets are fairly basic, the entrance was accidentally put in the most ridiculously awkward place and on a very busy night the walls do sweat.

But beauty and cleanliness are not what the forum is about. Its about great bands playing awesome gigs and dancing and moshing your night away, its about meeting like minded people in a friendly place and having a great time, and for this the forum never fails to deliver.

Spent many evenings as a teenager at this venue, recently been going back regularly again. It's been voted the best small venue in the UK, because it is. From the quality of bands that play, to the prices, to the apparent accommodation the owners show towards the musicians (who'll regularly thank someone or other!). With small venues closing down around the country, this is a national treasure, get yourself down to the forum!!
