Britain's Best Small Venue for a reason
Oct 2019
The Forum is NME's Best Small Venue and after a night here it's easy to see why. The place simply oozes character and charm, no surprise as it was once a Victorian public toilet.
It's a wonderfully intermate venue and it would be difficult to think of a venue where you can get as close to the acts on stage.
There's a decent bar selection and the staff are friendly and welcoming but a cloakroom would be a huge benefit.

Great, intimate venue
Jan 2019
I live locally and have always been intrigued by The Forum and the events that go on there. A band I liked performed there so I bought tickets (which were very reasonably priced) and was thrilled by the venue when I arrived. It was very cosy and intimate which I loved so no matter where you stood you would get a great view of the artists on stage. Also a good sound quality and very well decorated inside. Great little bar and merch stand with friendly staff. Loads of good events going on here from open mic nights to local bands starting out to dance nights. Always seems a great atmosphere from the outside as well and is so conveniently located so close to Tunbridge Wells town centre and just a 5 minute walk from the train station. A few nice picnic benches outside too if you wanted to have a drink outside before the show in the summer. You'd be silly not to go if an event takes your fancy!

Sunday Summertime relaxed vibes.
Jul 2018 • Friends
I was there for a friends event and discovered a mixed crowd all intent on chilling, eating Jamaican jerk chicken and listening to local dj's and some more recognisable talent play some lovely records and occasionally perform live. Its shabby, a little worn out, slightly run down but hell its cool/ You know you cant break it...
We took children there and they enjoyed playing out on the common at the same time.

The toilets no more
Sep 2018 • Couples
This use to be a toilet many years ago but don't let that put you off. It's not a huge venue in fact quite the opposite but has some huge bands, great sounds. Well worth googling what's bands are on and going to see them there. Always a friendly atmosphere and a well stocked bar.

The most famous converted Gents Urinal in the country!

Great old school club vibe with sticky floor and walls plastered with gig posters. Very popular with locals and music lovers. Get the newsletter in your inbox to keep track of visiting bands.

We were traveling from the US and I thought we should do something that no other Americans would be doing. We saw the Smyth's, a Smiths cover band. They were great, they nailed it! The guy who is like Morrissey was fantastic.
It was a sold out show and the cost was a reasonable 15 quid. (I think a lot of the shows here are less expensive.) Well worth it. We parked on a side street and walked through a park. It was DARK, carry a torch if you can.
It was crowded, and at 60, I was not the oldest person there.
The acoustics were very good. Enjoyed the entire experience.

It used to be a toilet!

Its a brilliant venue - small/intimate, reasonable entrance prices, friendly, rough round the edges, drinks not too expensive, no dress code, hardly anywhere to sit, garden for summer months. A proper old fashioned small gig venue thats as good as you'll find anywhere.

5 mins walk from Tunbridge Wells station, some street parking nearby, loads of pubs if you want to drink somewhere first.

Great atmosphere for the right band, and they have had some great bands in their time, many of whom were on the way up.
