We booked a family trip on the train as I thought our 2 young boys would love it.. Well it was the most horrendous trip ever.. Firstly when we boarded the train it was like sitting in an oven, yes it was hot outside but no one warned us how hot it was gong to be, as we get going... More

Dear Julie, I have to say your review leaves me struggling for diplomatic words and trying not to channel Basil Fawlty - but I'll give it a go. Trip Advisor is a great facility for people to post honest and objective feedback. Unfortunately it is also open to misuse, and in the main we have to rely on the good... More

A lovely ride through the picturesque South Downs on a beautifully restored old steam train & back on a lovely old Diesel engine. The interior of the "Bar car" is gorgeous & yes, still sells a lovely pint of cider (bottles but quality bottles). The museum was closed by time we returned so can't comment on that but the staff... We did a return trip to Tunbridge wells and enjoyed the scenic countryside. We were a little disappointed that we didn't get the steam train, but it seems to be pot luck on some days. The staff that work on the train are very friendly and attentive, but less welcoming in the museum area. I would do it again but... More

Very well organised and usually incorporates change of engines at Eridge which provides extra interest. Groombridge station has a convenient pub close by and High Rocks also has a pub option as well as a scenic walk through the rocks. All round a really enjoyable experience.

I spent a pleasant afternoon having afternoon tea on a train ride from Royal Tunbridge Wells West Station to Eridge and back. As well as superb scenery, we enjoyed afternoon tea consisting of 3 finger sandwiches and fillings, scone, jam and clotted cream, plus 3 afternoon tea cakes. washed down by lots of tea and coffee. first class serive, nothing... I took my almost 2 year old to the Spa Valley Railway today and we had a lovely time! The staff are brilliant, the weather was lovely and we were pulled by the Thumper today which was different to our last trip on the steam train. Highly recommended, this is a lovely day out for all ages.

I just enjoyed D9537 at Spa today on a full day driver experience. If your looking for an experience day Spa is definitely the place. The service when booking the day was personal but professional working around issues when they accidentally arose. The tuition today was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

We visited on a sunny Sunday and we were delighted at what the Spa Valley Rly had to offer. As a railway fan I may be biased but for a short railway (5 miles) it has plenty to offer. I challenge some other reviews claiming "it's not the Bluebell Line"- correct but the Spa Valley Railway is just as enjoyable.... More

The Spa Valley railway is located at the old Tunbridge West Railway station about 15 minutes walk from the main line station, which is about 1 hours train journey from London Charing X. It runs a distance of 5 miles from Tunbridge Wells West station to Eridge which is on the Southern Railways system. From there you can get trains... More
