Amazing walks out here, over time I thought that the nature reserve area were the pond is has slowly got worse. I think it hasn't been looked after as much as I thought it was going to be. Hopefully it will be looking better soon.
I would definitely recommend coming on a nice day out.

I live opposite the park so I might be classed as slightly biased but I love it. The friends of Ellington park work exceptionally hard to raise money for new facilities and general maintenance and improvement. They hound the council to ensure it is kept up to a very high standard, despite the council digging their feet in at every turn. Yes there is the occasional dog mess, which is down to irresponsible pet owners that ruin it for the rest of us. Being a new puppy owner we regularly use the park, my children love playing on the rocks and some lovely tree carvings are in the process of being finished. Unfortunately some teenagers decided to burn the children's play area down for the second time the other night, so that is currently closed. Fingers crossed the council agrees to replace it and get it open to the public again ASAP.

Beautiful Park with kids playground, picnic tables and band stand. Jazz bands play on the band stand in the summer and there is a bowling green for the seniors and a mini ride on train circuit. Could benefit from a coffee hut selling drinks, sweets and cakes as there is nothing close by.

Whether you like to wander through the park, looking for squirrels and parakeets or want a little break to have a picnic, Ellington Park is the place. You will also find the locals are always keen to tell you about the great history of the park and you can meet some very friendly dogs too! :-) I also support the Friends of Ellington Park , whom I salute for their constant work to always improve the park, keep it safe and tidy.

A great space - always clean, well kept and inviting. I've never had a problem walking around the park late at night and any problems with anti-social behaviour in the park (ALL parks have this to some extent) were cleared up years ago. The Friends of Ellington Park are doing a fantastic job of raising funds to develop the park and also put on a number of excellent events throughout the year - last year's May Fayre being a prime example (excellent live Jazz and superb organic ice cream!) Looking forward to exhibitions and events in 2014.

Not far from the train station, this is a favourite for local families. A bandstand in the centre, there are often activities such as music festivals and these are geared to families too. It is just a small restful park in which to stroll and enjoy the peace of the area.

Ellington Park, Ramsgate, used to effectively be a no-go zone, but, thanks to the Friends of Ellington Park, who have now built up an impressive reputation around the town of Ramsgate, this park is well worth a visit on a summer's day.
As others have already said, the Friends are seemingly constantly busy organising the next big function in Ellington Park. It appears that they work to a rota which begins with their unmissable May Fayre towards the end of May and climaxes with a big music festival (usually jazz) at the end of summer, with numerous musical, arty and child-friendly events in between.
The funds raised from donations received at these events, along with what I believe are imminent funding applications, are being put towards facilities such as a shop selling refreshments.
It is disappointing that one of the posts below advises visitors to Ramsgate to avoid Ellington Park like the plague; this attitude might have been understandable in yesteryear, but is a very pessimistic outlook to have in the present day when so much is obviously being done to regenerate the park and restore it to its original beauty.

Are there toilets in the park?

Unfortunately there are no toilets in the park. However “FRIENDS OF ELLINGTON PARK’’ (a group of people who live in the Ellington Park area) are trying to get the Park back to its former glory., hopefully with toilets.
