If you like walking and seeing endangered animals Howletts won't disappoint. The grounds are extensive and you will need a whole day to explore the wildlife. See the elephants, tigers ,monkey, gorillas and many other endangered animals. Howletts are nvolved in extensive programmes of breeding to enable the Anne male to be released back into their natural hanitaat. Friendly staff... More

We've got a yearly passport so we try and get here as many times as possible. Freezing cold Saturday in January. Had a brisk walk round. Hardly any one here but loads and loads of animals were out and about. We love it fund it so relaxing and peaceful. Only thing is the food in the cafe is pretty ropey... More

Went after Christmas and decided to become members as we are sure to be back in the warmer weather. Friendly and welcoming staff. The animal park is well kept and easy to navigate. We enjoyed walking around in the crisp, sunny but chilly day. To our daughter's delight we saw quite a few animals despite the cold. Looking forward to... More

We went expecting a small and relatively quick day out, but this place is full of lovely surprises and amazing animals! The best day out I had while we were in the area of Canterbury!!

We had a very brief visit to Howletts the other day, before heading across the channel. The weather was sunny but crisp and because we arrived early we pretty much had the place to ourselves, which was great!. The range of animals isn't as big as you might find in many other places, and it is sometimes strange to see... More

Very disappointed. Myself and my hubby always try to visit zoo's across the country when we go on national breaks and had just visited Wingham Wildlife park (an absolute gem, only 10 mins away, do go visit!) on the same day. As we live so far from Kent we thought to visit Howletts as well. The animals to see are... More

Thank you for your review and sorry to learn that you were disappointed with your visit. As we keep our animals in the wild state as we are a conservation park, not a zoo, the animals are not locked out of their quarters like some parks in the country, and as a result you do have to be a little... Great place to spend a day, good variety of animals and the keepers were very informative. The animals are well cared for in good surroundings.

A beautifully maintained park in the garden of england. We visited for a family day out and were impressed by everything we saw and experienced. Car parking is plentiful and close to the entrance, the park itself is set out well so that an easy itinerary can be formulated from the maps, and of course, the animals are impressive and... More

Have been lucky to visit here and sister park Port Lympne many times. Every time see something new. Listened to the goriila talk and the rhino talk given by Emily, very interesting. Lucky to watch the baby rhino Mizzy? with her mum. So sweet . Even though it was a cold damp day we saw Pallas cats, lions, tigers, anteaters, leopard,... More

Really enjoyed our day out. Animals were beautiful and looked after. Only downfall was the restaurant... Food was not the best quality for the price and the coffee was cold ( and it was freezing outside)
