About
Canterbury Cathedral Shop Canterbury Cathedral has charitable status and owns Cathedral Enterprises Ltd. (CEL) to trade on its behalf and give the profit back to the cathedral. Canterbury Cathedral Shop carries on a historic tradition selling replicas of “Pilgrims Tokens” in a large range of carefully selected gifts including recordings made by our world-famous choirs. We publish a wide range of books on the cathedral. Many of the gifts have been designed exclusively for us and have won awards. The shop is also well known for a wide range of tapestries. CEL also caters for the many Cathedral visitors who want a good souvenir. As we are in "The Garden of England" most of our food is from Kent and Sussex. We try to source items that are ethically produced, locally if possible.

Good shop

Quite a big shop located quite close to the cathedral - a convenient location if that's where you're coming from.

Thank you - we aim to please. In June we are moving to be part of the new Visitor Centre and Shop next to the main entrance, Christ Church Gate. We hope this will make the shop even better and certainly easier to shop being on one level.

Large Interesting Shop

Must stop-off after visiting Canterbury Cathedral if you are interested in this kind of stuff. Spent a small fortune of my holiday spending money in this shop buying sacred items (jewellery), angelic items and interesting info books on the cathedral. Possibly the largest cathedral shop I have been in and well worth the wander through after visiting the magnificent cathedral nearby!

Common sense please
Jul 2017
I was staying in the cathedral lodge hotel with a friend and as this shop is in the grounds we went in for a look, the only thing I purchased was a couple of cards and my friend didn't buy anything, when we tried to exit the shop by the same door we were told by a rather brusque young man that we could not do so and would have to go out the front door and walk around and through the cathedral entrance, when we politely asked why we were told so that we could have our bags searched, as i had no bag other than the small paper one with my cards i had just bought I asked him if he could not check them and let us back to our hotel (20 feet away) but he told us in no uncertain terns that if we did not do as he said he and would call security, I am completely aware of the need for diligence and am always 100% wiling to comply with any requests but seriously can common sense not be used? and was threats really necessary to use on a 5ft, 7stone when dripping wet, 62 year old woman carrying a paper bag with birthday cards in it???? what kind of impression does this give to our tourists? i certainly know the impression it has given me, I feel i would have been treated better at the border of a hostile country not at all appropriate for a place of worship. bad show cathedral shop

Tasteful, interesting items
Jul 2017
This is a wonderful shop if you are interested in Cathedral related gifts and souvenirs, as well as other very attractive, tasteful gifts. The gifts I bought there for friends at home were greatly appreciated. As for the prices, I visited 11 cathedrals on my trip to England and found these in line with the other cathedral shops. Also, I find it helpful to remember that shops like these help support maintenance of these several hundred year old buildings.

We popped in the shop to see what was on offer. Good range of souvenirs, educational range for children. Stained glass pictures big and small . Books , tapestries etc. Polite staff in the shop . Plenty for everyone.

Good range

The shop is one of the exits from Canterbury Cathedral's precincts. It offers a good range of gifts, from the "pocket money" type to more expensive originals. It is the best place to buy Canterbury- themed souvenirs, rather than generic (made in Far East) "British" ones.

Had a quick look in here to see if there were any gifts I could buy. Most items are Cathedral related as the shop is close by to the Cathedral. Only one way to enter and exit as the other door is lead in from the Cathedral side
