A lovely warm English Summer Day, a nice table in the Garden, good beer, excellent, friendly service (it couldn't have been better) in the centre of a lovely historic City - it doesn't get much better. We have visited several times over the years and the Dolphin never disappoints.

Tucked away from the city centre, The Dolphin has been our local for a few years (even if it is on the other side of town). Genuinely welcoming staff, and probably the best beer garden in Canterbury. Lots of board games, too. We've spent some geat lazy afternoons here. You can get a very nice Sunday roast - including a... More

We've have been coming to this pub for several years and usually love this place. The food is great and the service is usually cheerful and friendly. Unfortunately our experience tonight could not have been more different. The girl behind the bar was surly and unfriendly, and very sloppy in serving our drinks, genuinely seemed like it would crack her... More

Myself and several friends visited Canterbury for a social afternoons drink. We are mostly retired, some ex Kent Fire Brigade,we stopped off at the Dolphin as we had been informed they stocked a good selection of Real Ales.We entered the bar and the young lady serving informed us there was nowhere to sit,as there was lots of standing room we explained that... The Dolphin is tucked away in the maze of streets surrounding the cathedral. Unassuming on the outside, it pops with life inside. There's a fine selection of spirits, particularly gins and sipping bourbons. But the best part is the atmosphere: not up itself, cosy without being twee. Board games are piled up for playing and there are several different comfortable... More

Went here on a Sunday lunch time and loved it. It's a lovely pub tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. It has a really nice spacious beer garden which was lovely as it was nice and sunny The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We also loved he cat that inhabits the garden.... More

Lovely bar tucked away from the high street offering lunch, dinner and dessert. It's one of my favourite pubs in Canterbury. The garden is nice for a day out and the interior is fantastic too. A good place to bring visitors from out of town or come for a glass of wine. Overall, a fantastic pub. Would definitely recommend.

Another great pub to add to Canterbury, great selection of drinks and food is top quality. The staff are very friendly and this place looks quite small from the front but has a lovely beer garden that would be perfect for a sunny day.

Hadn't been to the dolphin in about a year but remembered it when we were looking for a pub garden since the weather has improved recently. Great little pub, very friendly staff and good drinks. Although I didn't see the cat this time which was a disappointment :(
