Walking this route takes you through the countryside and follows the river stour. There are various things to see on the way, including an area for exercise. It took us some 2 hours to walk from one end to the finish.

Lovely riverside path which takes you right into the heart of kentish countryside and surrounded by nature. Plenty of benches along the way for picnics. About an hour or so to walk to Chartham village (half hour cycling). Cycle path (or walking) continues after Chartham...More

This is an excellent walk, around about 3 miles from Canterbury to Chartham along a well marked out path - going through some of the wetland nature reserve.

This cycle path is great - just long enough for children and you can always catch the train back to Canterbury from Chartham if you don't fancy the walk back. At Chartham, the Artichoke Pub is friendly and welcoming to walkers / visitors and has...More

We parked in Chartham (4 hours free) and walked into Canterbury. Really nice walk that isn't strenuous. You could catch the train back to Chartham but after a nice lunch we decided to walk back.

This is a multi user pathway easy to travel on for cyclists, walkers, mobility scooters, runners and anyone else who wants to use it. Well thought out alongside the River Stour we walked about 2 miles towards Chartham, but the weather became cold and promised...More

This is a beautiful walk along a newly-made multi-user trackway made mostly from compacted sand. Nice underfoot. The people you meet are nice and well able to share between cyclists, runners, walkers, mother with prams, or bird watchers. The path runs alongside the river, with...More

Starting from the south side of the playgrounds south of Westgate Gardens it’s a bit over a 3 mile walk to Chartham along the Stour, past fields, meadows and (man-made) lakes and through beautiful countryside. The first mile and a bit out of Canterbury, and...More
