    Pretty good overall
Pretty good all round kids play area. My negatives are that you have to pay for parking (central Canterbury) and the main kids slide has a climbing wall to get onto it. Most toddlers and smaller can't manage that, but can enjoy the slide. Every time we've been a parent stands at the top lifting all the kids up!

    Wear wellies
Excellent play area but if it had been raining in the past 24 hours wear wellies and waterproofs as the ground will be very muddy and slippery. The toddler slipped a few times getting caked in mud and the older one even had a couple of slips as well as mud just sloshing up his jacket from him running in it.

Surprised by all the 5/5 reviews as we really felt this place was pretty average. We parked at Wincheap and walked through which was nice though. Especially as parking here is just 50p at the moment!
Pleased to find there were 2 toilets there, but by lunch time one had run out of toilet roll!

This could be a fantastic playground! It is a massive and gorgeous piece of land. the view on the river Stour and the surrounding trees are beautiful. An it is safe, away from the roads.
So why on earth doesn't Canterbury care about it ???
There are 3 play apparatus so old that everyone will tell you "it was already old when I played on it"
There is space to buil a theme playground like in Folkstone or even like the Lady Di Peter Pan playground in Kensington gardens.... So get started !!!!
It also needs benches, an ice cream parlor / tea room / ...

And what was this idea of charging 10p for the carpark??

Playgrounds in Canterbury are ashaming for such a renonned town!

My partner and I took our 3 kids here in September. The location and play equipment are great. However, for ambitious and adventurous kids it turned into a nightmare. An hours play had passed and the Mrs and I had struggled to keep an eye on the whereabouts of our 1, 2 and 3 year olds. The play equipment is spread out over a large area making it difficult to keep an eye on them if they go in separate directions. Seeing where they are is hindered by the height of the earth mounds and play equipment. This wouldn't be such an issue if the council had fenced off the area to enclose the space but when I caught my son just 3 metres from adventuring into the river Stour, which is just yards from the sight that was enough. Your toddlers are also free to roam into the car park or approach road if left for a few seconds. A real shame. Clearly the council blew the budget on leisure and not on safety and I'm very surprised they're hasn't been an incident already.

This is a really lovely playground with things for all ages , not just toddlers. It is to be found after a pleasant walk (not too far) from the Westgate. I have spent many happy hours there with my grandchildren

I took my Grandchildren yesterday and we had the most wonderful time. So much equipment, lovely environment to picnic.
Toilets weren't great but you expect this in a park and we were grateful there were some there.
Parking was tricky to find and not the easiest of roads but there was plenty of space.
We spent 4 hours there and could have stayed longer but started to rain...lovely

This is a great playground for children with swings for various ages, a zip wire which our grandchildren are too young for yet, imaginative slides and wooden houses that children love to spend time in. Then you can see the boats going by on the river and walk easily into Westgate Gardens and feed the ducks and moorhens. What more could young children want??? We take some frozen sweet corn or peas which have defrosted by the time we get to the ducks and they love this, often coming up on to the riverbank along with the pigeons. The bridge between Toddlers Cove and the Gardens have some lovely pictures and a poem by local poet Maggie Harris. If you are doing any grannie or grandpa sitting which we do once a week this is definitely a place to go.

A wide range of play equipment in a well kept park. The name Toddlers Cove is right as it is really for younger ones.

My grand kids love this park with a great assortment of rides set just a stone throw from the city centre. We cycle here (route 18), have a picinic and let the kids play. Very important to keep an eye on them though as there is a river running beside the park.

Been here few times now. Lovely Park area with children's play equipment and few tables. Toilets and sometimes ice-cream van. Parking is OK and charges are reasonable.
We came today for the lovely stretch of walk, lovely sunny day and Warm!
Great for a peaceful walk to blow cobwebs away!
Get a small picnic and drink and walking shoes on. It's great 🙌
