I took my daughter who was 5 at the time, she enjoyed dressing up as a character and the guide and other staff were very good. Place smelt funny but i guess that was in keeping with the time it was all set in. Really enjoyed the experience

On New Year's Eve I went to this pub and ordered a Cranberry and Vodka, which came to £3.80. I handed the lady a £10 note and she gave me £1.20 change. When I told her I had actually handed her £10 note she just smiled and said I hadn't. I knew for a fact that I hadn't as I had just come from work and been given a £10 note as a tip and taken another two £10 notes from my bag. However, this lady maintained that I had given her a fiver. I wasn't drunk as this order was my first drink of the night and I think it is appalling that a pub would try to swindle more money from customers in this manner. Neither my friends or I would be willing to go back.

We usually come here when seeing a show at The Marlowe. The fire smells nice and it's more personal than the theatre bar. We came here in the interval of The Joy of Mincing which was fine. We returned after the show ordered a drink and when one of our group returned to the bar to get another was told it closed at 9.45. We were reminded to drink up although apparent regulars were not. What pub in this day and age can afford to turn away trade on a Sunday night ? We will choose to frequent the Pilgrims Hotel the next time we return to The Marlowe.

Decor a little dark but nice quite pub no loud music or tv. Lovely open fires and nice atmosphere. You can't beat having a nice drink with friends by candlelight!

This place as an open fire which is always nice on these wintry nights. The music is very good in there and it was not too busy so it was easy to take to who I was with. The prices are a little high but expected when its location is next to the theatre, the bar staff were not the best trained as they asked us how to make a very simple drink. Still a nice place to go for a quiet drink on an evening.

Frequently visited this pub during my time at University and towards the end of my duration I started to avoid it on a night out. The pub is always busy during the evening due to the late opening hours but the drinks are hideously overpriced (especially mixers).
When put into context of the other pubs in Canterbury it's a decent pub nothing more.

Decent décor spoilt by surly bar staff, collapsing sofa, dirty toilets, surcharge for cards, only two choices of wine...

Good introduction to a few of Chaucer’s tales. Some narrated by and actor and some listened on audio. Tour takes about 40 minutes. Maybe a little pricey (£31 for 2 adults, 1 child), but we used Tesco vouchers so great value for us.
