Great to get out!
Jun 2021
And we’re back for some cricket. As members my wife and myself were allocated tickets at the St.Lawrence Grd. Canterbury. With reduced capacity due the Covid restrictions so not full. Sanitizer stations around, people and staff wearing masks around the grd. but not while seated. Great fun was had by all, the weather was good apart from this Sunday 20th June but still had a great time. Parts of the Grd. are cordoned off to keep people safe from to much mixing. Looked and felt safe at the Grd. Food and drink outlets at reasonable prices dotted about.

Lovely

Lovely spot to watch cricket. The on site cafe is very good. There are a good selection of beers available too. You can either choose to bring your own chair or sit in the small stands. Excellent away win for Yorkshire too.

i had the pleasure of visiting this iconic ground back in july/august for the game between kent and essex and i took my two sons along with me and we had seats in the Frank Wooley stand bought for me by my lovely daughter Jenny on her wedding day as a gift . the facilities were excellent for food and drink including the famouse spitfire beer supplied by shepherd and neame in the various outlets around the grpound which incidentally is the oldest brewery in the country . the staff were excellent and the ground is well worth a visit .

The home of Kent cricket!
Sep 2019
Other than the bad weather preventing most of the game being played! A must for cricket lovers, this ground deserves to be visited. It has been updated over the past few years with towering floodlights and a large apartment block overlooking the ground (lucky people!) but retains much of its charm.

Music at the Cricket ground
Aug 2019
We saw a poor Queen tribute there.
Drinks were Very expensive £27 for two pints and two vodka and lemonade.
Sound system was poor and seemed to finish early.

Good Result at 20/20- Ground Needs some TLC
Aug 2019
attended the sell out 20/20 match v Surrey. Good View from free seats. The no smoking policy was not enforced. At least one of the toilets had no paper only 20 mins after ground opened. I found bar serving a lack of soft drinks a disappointment. The seats need upgrading.

Overall with a bot of TLC this could be a very good ground. I will return. Got taxi from City centre- only few pounds and walked back-down hill to bus station- only 10/15 mins.

To watch cricket.

Been to Southampton several times recently, and they are certainly much more user friendly.
It seems that KCC are more interested in profit than the crowd that come to support them. Vast areas of the ground are unseated, with offices, tea rooms and sponsors rooms right up to the boundary.
Think I'll stick to Southampton in future !

Cricket and more cricket
Jul 2019 • Couples
Have been here a few times over the years to see Kent play and some times win at Cricket. Travelled down to Canterbury West Station, had some lunch at one of the very many eateries in town. Got the bus towards the grd. walked to the grd. There are a lot more eating establishments at the grd. now a better choice then before. Beer was ok as well. Lovely game of cricket lovely evening and Kent beat Somerset. Stewards are helpful and friendly, seating does need a update as do toilet facilities. We will go in the future. Still a enjoyable night, for 20/20 cricket.

We attended this match last Sunday arriving in good time, the queue was massive as we were with friends we had not seen for over a year we checked the ticket which stated that two cans of beer or one bottle of wine were allowed so we took some wine,20 minutes later when we finally arrived at security we were told no alcohol was allowed in the ground, everyone was showing the staff their tickets stating the allowance but to no avail, People had to hand their wine over or return to their car which I did again queuing for 20 minutes to get into the ground. To add insult to injury the queues at the bar were very long the staff unsure of what they were doing and the beer was expensive and poor. After 20 years of watching cricket there I will never visit the St Lawrence ground again.I have looked into the staff actions and they were not legal as the conditions on the ticket form the contract.
