Fabulous farmers market and restaurant
Oct 2021 • Couples
What a fabulous little gem in the heart of Canterbury town centre on a very wet Sunday morning we wandered down there had the most amazing breakfast and coffee whisky sitting in the market soaking up the smell and atmosphere afterwards we had a a stroll round at all the lovely produce - our only regret is we didn’t book and evening meal
At the good shed restaurant as this looked lovely !! A great find and a must whilst in the city

On Wednesday 20 October 2021 at approximately 10:30 I visited the “Goods Shed” farmers market where I purchased:
A dressed Crab, a net of Mussels and two whole smoked Kippers.
The net contained 63 mussels of which 9 had broken shells and were dead, 30 had open shells which would not close and were dead, the remaining 24 were live.
24 live mussels out of 63 is not acceptable.
I warmed the kippers for a few minutes at 150ºC, both were dry, probably very old, not acceptable.

Very good food and service. Would be 5 * if the loos improved
Oct 2021 • Couples
We visited on Friday and was surprised.
The Good shed is a food market with a Restaurant raised slightly above it.
Service and food very good.

Only criticism, the Toilets. These are shared with the market and many commuters heading to and from the station use them.
The loo I used was not what you expect from a pricey restaurant.

I would eat there again but the Loos let it down.

1st visit ‘I’ll be back’
Sep 2021 • Couples
Bread shop was friendly. A bit pricey but both my wife and will be back so that says it all. Coffee in the left hand corner was amazing as well.

Poor service and an excruciatingly long wait for food that was not that brilliant.
Aug 2021 • Friends
We booked for 10 but when we arrived we were not allowed to sit at the same table because “the kitchen don’t like more than 6 at a table”. A shame this was not explained when we booked. So the bride and groom could not sit with their guests. We were the first to arrive at an empty restaurant and then waited 90 minutes to be served. When we asked why so long and why were other tables served before us “ there have been a lot of Unbooked walk ins today” who obviously were given priority over our party who had booked. Some of the food was very good but some was too rich (sardines on a gloopy mayonnaise) and the grilled apricots were not ripe and very unpleasant. £3 for a tiny roll. Service was apathetic and surly. Eeugh.

Terrible Hygine Standards - Avoid at All Costs
Jul 2021
This is a terrible establishment. As I sat and drank a coffee at the front of the Goods Shed I had the terrible misfortune to watch as the butcher cut up a animal carcass on the dirty floor of the van.
The same butcher then left the blood covered saw on a dinning table outside. The table was never cleaned then I watched in horror as two men sat down at the same table and ate their lunch, where the raw meat residue was.

It is also worth noting that the Goods Shed proudly serves the same butchers meat in their restaurant.

Once a Mecca for foodies. Now sadly left behind by some distance.
Was there on Wednesday afternoon and there was no atmosphere, no style and very little substance.
Won’t be back

Lunch at the Goods Shed
Jul 2021
Ate lunch here today with a friend who had previously had two good meals here.however today we were very disappointed. We ordered the lamb. The plate looked extremely unappetising with Pearl barley and vegetables covered in a juice. The lamb was tender but very fatty.
The young staff were not very efficient and the whole experience was very disappointing as we had been looking forward to it.
