Good place for a picnic and relax before or when you finish your visit of Canterbury and its in the center so you don't have to way far from the city to escape.

These extensive gardens are walled and provide a walkway from Canterbury East railway station into the centre of the town. They are well maintained and teem with small birds life - we saw long-tailed tits - and are a really pleasant place to spend some time. The mediaeval walls prtoect you from traffic noise on the other side.

I have spent a few lunch breaks in this peaceful haven near the center of the city while working on contract here. I find it very relaxing and beautiful to walk through, a lovely spot to take stock or meditate

This is not a place I would venture too as the light goes down or fades as its quite a "iffy" area of canterbury. However saying that during the summer months its is a lovely picnic spot with activities for the children.

Nice gardens to sit and relax (if required) or just a nice walk along the city walls. Further along is a monument if you feel like a climb to the top to view it. Previously a cemetery and turned into a park between 1790 and 1803. Worth reading the history.

I actually visited the Dane John Gardens because my first name's Dane and my middle name's John, but it was actually a beautiful little find and I'm glad we went there. It's not necessarily worth travelling to, but if you're in the area then I recommend having a little wander around.

We stopped here after visiting the cathedral. Lots of space to walk around, great views of the city from the mound. There is a place to eat, but we didn't stop.

Lovely place to relax and have a break. if you climb the mount you have a great view of the city, you can walk the city wall, there's a bandstand, fountain and a cafe, and lovely tree lined the path which looks lovely in the autumn
