Booked this river tour as an alternative way to view this city. We had not realised that whilst the tour lasted for approximately 45 minutes, it was unfortunate that the tour only took place on one relatively short stretch of river. Basically you travel approx 300 yards in one direction and then reverse your journey and then travel for a... More

Our "captain" James was funny yet knowledgable and able to answer any questions we had. During the 45 minute round trip he packed in lot of history and facts in a fun and informative way. We went on one of the hottest days of the year but they do have umbrellas for shade, just mind your head on the low... More

This is a must do when visiting Canterbury, the tour guide was witty, friendly and knowledgable (👍🏻Vaughan) and blimey, they have got to be mighty fit to do that all day. Tour takes approx. 45 minutes and costs £9.50 per adult. Sitting back soaking up the sun and information was perfect and even though there was a boat full of... More

Use this company, based by the old Weavers House just up from Westgate. Brilliant value tour taken today. Led by Captain Luke, we were skilfully rowed up and down the Stour and given lots of information about the historic sights along the way. Great value for money, we were given a good deal on a family ticket.

My daughter and I went on Canterbury Historic River Tour. This was our second tour as our first one with Nye was a very pleasant, fun and a good history lesson boat ride. Unfortunately, today with Captain Henry this was not the case. My 11 year old daughter was upset about his graphic description of the ducking stool and what... More

This is a fantastic activity for all ages - the guides are incredibly well informed and can charm children and grumpy old elitists alike. It's a wonderful way to get a different perspective on Canterbury and get up close and personal with buildings that are otherwise inaccessible. Highly recommended!

Captain Hamza was a great company to boat with. Through out the journey I really enjoyed my time looking at the historical view of Canterbury. It was a memorable riverboat tour. Couldn't have asked for more. *Highly recommended* Cheers!

My advice is dont take the trip from the main street in the town , go to the bottom of the street just outside the gates and start your boat trip from there, I've been on both trips and this one is way way better than the main street trip and u get far more for your money, the river... More
