We visited here on the last day of this years opening season and it was still very enjoyable despite some the roses having finished flowering or not been at their best. Volunteers/ staff all very friendly and a nice little tea room which welcomed all of us plus our dog. We are definitely going to be visiting next year earlier... More

Visited on the last day to educate myself more on roses. I found a lot of the beds empty and quite unkempt, they needed deadheading badly, and most of the stock not named so not helping me going forward with educated choices. The refreshment area was very limited in choice, very expensive and certainly not good value for money. Probably... More

The Gardens of the Rose is a marvellous place to visit and dogs are welcome, which is a real plus. We have been visiting these gardens every year for the last 23 years and are never disappointed. There were many roses in bloom when we visited on the last open day of the season, and the central areas were as... More

We expected more from a national garden with a hefty £6 entrance fee for what was on offer. We saw far too many roses which needed managing and not a gardener in sight. We were in and out in under an hour.

i knew I was going to have time to kill after leaving Heathrow after my long overnight flight and before my hotel north of London would be available, so I planned a stop at the Royal National Rose Society Gardens near St. Albans. I arrived at 10am as the gates were opened, and walked into a rosey wonderland. As I... More

The gardens were glorious at the end of June; thousands of roses and other interesting blooming plants. The only garden with possibly more roses is Mottisfont Abbey which has the collection of old-fashioned roses.

Beautiful display of a huge variety of fragrant roses and other foliage . There are many walkways with ample seating which can help those with mobility problems. Just lovely to sit and admire the roses at various intervals and from different locations. At present you can enjoy another visit free of charge as long as you get you initial ticket... More

This is only a review of the Royal National Rose Society's events department and and its wedding hosting facilities. My fiancé and I were extremely disappointed by the RNRS, to the extent we've had to change venues. 1/ Expect extra costs - After agreeing a price of the venue-hire and wedding package as outlined in the brochure; the RNRS decided... So interesting and informative. The smells are intoxicating. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. A plus is a lovely clean tea room with great cakes. Plenty of parking. Just off M25.
