We were visiting St Albans on a quite rainy day and looking for somewhere to have lunch at a pretty Spanish time. We hadn't found any really appealing place until we checked out this pub, whose kitchen was still open (at about 3pm) and staff was very welcoming. The menu included different deals at a surprisingly reasonable price - to be honest I expected worse. Burguers or pizzas plus beverage were about 8-10 pounds, and this wasn't ordinary food at all, but good quality indeed. Food was served after a reasonable while and we really enjoyed lunch on a typically British day in terms of weather. I really look forward to visiting St Albans and this pub again, hopefully on a day with nicer weather!…

Great location right on the roundabout coming into Town Center, Saint Albans. A lot of separate seating areas and a nice bar. Good selection of beers and food menu.

The lunch menu with a drink is a good offer - however I never received my soft drink. The food was served out in the garden quickly. The fish finger sandwich looked good. My pulled pork felt very sloppy and luke warm. I enjoyed my Gordon’s pink gin, the young bartender is nice but needs to have more confidence - having witnessed the harsh manager demanding other tasks all at the same time we felt for him. A nice pub and lovely outdoor area but expect as the sun becomes more frequent this space will become super busy…

Thought we’d have a nice pub meal & drink at The Blacksmiths. Got the drinks in & went to order food. Not sure which was the longest list, what they did have or what they didn’t have. I must admit the the burger I had was ok but really fancied steak no how about fish & chips no. The pie one of us had was tough & the 2 chicken burgers were awful, very tough to bite through. Not that many staff on duty & a mountain of glasses & bottles on the tables in the garden waiting to be collected.Service was ok but please do it with a smile. Can’t say I’ll rush back.…
