Nice place to visit in pleasant countryside. Looks like the day Shaw was last there. Nice garden too. Plays in Summer. Good pub with food nearby. Can get busy.

A charming house full of interesting evidence from a life well lived. The garden is stunning with a peaceful vibe. I would recommend going to Shaws corner to anyone, the room guides are very knowledgeable so can answer any questions you have, they also run...More

The outside open air theatre in July is a great experience. You sit in the garden and watch a shaw play. The house is mainly let as shaw left it.

Visited this house in September 2018. Those interested in George Bernard Shaw will find the house fascinating. Those less interested will be astounded by a remarkable time warp; those in their 60s will be instantly reminded of visits to grandparents. It is a credit to...More

This was such a surprising find. The house itself is very interesting full of historical wows. The gardens are beautiful and it is nice to visit Shaw's study in the garden and imagine writing there.

We went there as we are National Trust members. It is only small and is where George Bernard Cshaw lived.Interesting but not special. Also not a lot of parking but you can park a little further up the road

Called in having left work early to visit the home of Bernard and Charlotte Shaw, and managed to see it between 4-5pm before it closed. The NT property is set off the beaten track in the village but is well signposted. As others have said...More

The National Trust has preserved Shaw's home in all its original glory, although one can see that it was not a luxurious home, but you can get a feeling of how they lived. I was disappointed in the garden on arrival as it needed some...More

Off the beaten track this well cared for Edwardian house and gardens are a treat. Originally Shaw’s holiday home it is surrounded by quiet Hertfordshire countryside. The house is full of Shaw’s paintings and books as well as the usual paraphernalia of an early 20th...More

An unsolved puzzle. Why does every room downstairs have a door to the garden? Fantastic house with many stories and insight into Shaw, his wife and their life.

You really need navigation to get there. It is complicated with lots of narrow back and side roads.
